IDPs residing in collective center of the hotel “Khvamli” are in horrible conditions. The building is inconvenient for living.
The lawyer of the fund “Sukhumi” met them and gave information regarding the criteria, existing problems and procedures of IDP resettlement. For the given moment they are waiting for the commission, which must give concrete answer. In case of no reaction they have made a decision to send the statement to the Ministry.
Beside there were held individual consultations regarding different issues (divetion and its procedures, neighbor conflict, socially unprotected persons).
In January the last meeting of the youth club was held in public school No 1 of Poti with participation of 13 pupils.
It was the first time for them to speak about a problem of violence, they had no information about a law. Because of it they were less active, but learned a lot and expressed a will of future cooperation.
During a meeting, a group of volunteers was created, which will spread information among the youth.

On January 21, 23, 27 in WSCs of Poti, Tskaltubo and Khoni consultations of the psychologist were held (number of participants - 22)
The issue of the meeting in Poti and Tskaltubo was: self-evaluation, tests and mini-lection, discussion of concrete problems and examples.
In Khoni the psychologist met young woman – victim of violence, who was consulted. Future meetings were planned and the meeting with the lawyer for consultation and assistance.

In public school of koki (Zugdidi Municipality), the fund “Sukhumi” works for several years, so it has strong group of girls, which was transformed into youth club. On January 26, first informational meeting was held regarding the issue of domestic violence.
The meeting was attended by 17 pupils, the boys were also active.
From the members of youth club, a group of 8 persons was chosen and interesting activities were planned.
The youth think that the work should be activated in this direction, as there are number of problems: hard work of the women in family, farmyard, responsibility before the children. Attention to these issues was paid only after it.

On January 26 in Sakrebulo of Senaki an extraordinary meeting was held by Nana Alania – chairperson of the GAC (head of social issues commission of Sakrebulo).
The meeting was attended by the heads of Senaki Gamgeoba, services of infrastructures of refugees and accommodation, director of the cultural center, IDPs residing in collective center “Egrisi”, deputies of Sakrebulo.
The meeting was conducted on the background of active discussion regarding two problems – these problems were revealed during informational meeting in “Egrisi” and the meetings of lawyer in the library.
Representatives of relevant structures explained the issues under their competence and what can they do for improving the situation of the IDPs.
As for the library, head of the cultural center claimed that problem of toilets will be solved in nearest future.
The deputies mentioned that they are ready for collaboration and in case of need, for solution of local problems, they will discuss issue of additional financial support.
Forum-theater of the fund “Sukhumi” continues its work with new actors and new performances.
The first performance was held in Kutaisi, in former auto factory collective center. The IDPs residing here know the problems, underlined in a small scenes, that’s why they were actively involved in discussions and looked for the solution ways of hard situation.

Self-evaluation is opinion about ourselves. If a person has low self-evaluation, it means that he considers himself unsuccessful. Self-evaluation looks like a process when you look into the mirror and feel satisfaction. But it is not so, we must know our strengths and weaknesses. Only after it we will manage to rule our resources and possibilities. Low self-evaluation is a result of miscalculation and vice versa. When you love and appreciate yourself, you will see and appreciate kindness in others.
In Senaki, Kutaisi and Khurcha (Zugdidi Municipality) psychological meeting of the fund “Sukhumi” was attended by 37 women aged 22-65. All of them filled self-evaluation tests. It helped them in adequate evaluation.

On the initiative of the President of Georgia, 2015 was announced as a year of women, which means that changes must happen in state as well as in local policy to make the women more protected, stronger socially and economically. This decision was leaded by quite hard condition of the women in direction of women’s political and economical involvement, parliament and local elections, finished with minimal result, hard reality, existing in direction of women’s gender violence protection. As it was mentioned by the president the problem should appear in attention of society.
How do the public organizations evaluate existing challenges, what kind of efforts should the state and society take?
Members of Kutaisi Gender Advisory Council, representatives of the fund “Sukhumi” share their opinions regarding these issues, they define spheres, where the women mostly need protection and strengthening.
The weekly program of the TV Company “Rioni” – “7 Days”, presents an interesting story regarding this issue.
From January the new project “strengthening of women’s rights in western Georgia” continues work-shops with the youth on: ”family conflicts and mechanisms of their solution”.
On the background of interesting discussions, the meetings were held in Khoni, Kutaisi and Senaki.
The participants were given information, of how the conflicts start and go on, how it is connected with violence.
The youth discussed real examples of conflict duration, analyzed their negative results and discussed solution ways. To their opinion informing the society regarding these issues will promote to transformation of conflicts.
With this aim active group of participants was chosen, who will conduct informational meetings in schools on their initiatives and discussions on these issues will continue.

In public school No1 of Senaki informational meeting of the youth was held. It was attended by 26 pupils. They familiarized with history and activities of the fund “Sukhumi”.
The topic of the meeting – prevention of domestic violence was new for the pupils, but despite this active discussion was held, new initiatives were made and then voluntary group of 10 pupils was created, which planned activities.
-Similar issues are not discussed in school, you are the first, who made us to think about issues of violence. We spoke about interesting and important issues. I will be an active member of the club, – mentioned one of the boys.

Ozurgeti Gender Advisory Council (GAC), among those, created by the fund “Sukhumi”, was the first to start promotion of gender policy in the region.
For last year the GAC elaborated and local Sakrebulo together with the fund “Sukhumi” financed the project “Youth – for assistance of gender policy”.
The project comes to its end and soon the youth forum is planned.
It was the issue of ordinary meeting of Ozurgeti GAC. Participants approved the plan of gender policy, which will be submitted to Sakrebulo for discussion.
Chairperson of the GAC – Lela Natsvaladze mentioned that local self-government actively supports initiatives draftedin gender policy plan and several projects, submitted by the GAC are ready for financing.
At the end of the meeting, members of Ozurgeti GAC expressed support of the action of the Ministry of Healthcare and government of Georgia “STOP C”, which started with the aim of prevention from hepatitis.
“Give a smile to IDPs”! – this phrase was a guideline for a meeting in Batumi.
While speaking about problems in health sphere, the IDPs mentioned that majority of them have no means for treating teeth and want to have relief in 50 %.
By the words of the chairperson of NGO “Unity for Assistance” – Nana Chanturaia, in post war period the IDPs had no possibility to treat the teeth. One diseased tooth damages the others and then it caused different diseases and depression.
In order to solve the problem and make prevention steps, Batumi Club of Women Voters of the fund “Sukhumi” and the organization “Unity for Assistance”, plan to conduct joint action and advocacy.

On January 23 meeting of Batumi Gender Advisory Council was held with representatives of new chairpersons of Batumi Municipality territorial units, who familiarized with the members of council and their activities. Perspectives of future collaboration were planned. One of the topics of meeting was gender budget, role and function of self-government in protection from gender violence, national referral of protection from violence, authority and coordination of its subjects. In the discussions on these issues together with them members of the Fund "Sukhumi", representatives of the Office of the Interior Ministry of Adjara, members of City Council participated.
At the meeting there was advocacy of important issues for the citizens. As the representatives of the executive branch mentioned, they are happy to continue to work with GAC in the issues that require their direct involvement.

In WSC of Tskaltubo, meeting of the youth club was held, with participation of 11 young people. Meeting of the issues of violence was inter-active.
As it was noted this problem was not evident because of our traditions and rules, but the time changes…similar meetings change awareness of the youth and they make a choice in benefit of non-violent society.
A group of volunteers was created on the meeting, which will closely collaborate with WSCs.
Lawyer of Tskaltubo WSC met the IDPs residing in collective center of the hotel “Medea”. The meeting discussed and issue of “law against domestic violence and legislative initiatives”. The participants got interested in the issue of meeting, there were lots of questions with competent answers of the lawyer.
Meeting participants received information regarding eviction of IDPs, which is very actual on this stage.

The former building of the hotel “Egrisi” in Senaki, but 33 IDP families name the problem of gas, part of the IDPs are in the process of legalization, the ceiling is damaged in the hall of the first floor and anti-sanitary in the cellar.
The IDPs demand rehabilitation of the first floor of the building from the state structures.
These problems were raised on the meeting of Senaki Gender Advisory Council the same day. It was decided to conduct a meeting of IDPs with the members of GAC, also with participation of representatives of the structures, who have a power to regulate the issue.
The problems, announced during the meeting were raised in Senaki GAC. Meeting of the IDPs with Sakrebulo members was discussed for their solution.
The 12-th meeting of Senaki Gender Advisory Council became the beginning of gender policy implementation – soon the activities of the project elaborated by the council will start. The project was financed by Senaki Municipality Sakrebulo and fund “Sukhumi”. Participants of the meeting received new information regarding preparation activities and discussed new project ideas from the recommendations, elaborated for gender policy implementation.
The meeting was special for active discussions and number of questions. Participants’ attention was paid to the problems of collective center “Egrisi” and public library (these problems were revealed as a results of informational meetings with IDPs and consultations with the lawyer).
