On February 16, the lawyer of the fund “Sukhumi” met a group of IDPs residing in Senaki Municipality. Their main problem is gasification and legitimating of living spaces. Individual consultations were made regarding different issues.
Meeting was held also with local citizen, who addressed our organization for legal assistance in private issues.
In public school No 30, there was held a performance of the fund “Sukhumi” forum-theatre. Number of audience was impressive – 58 pupils and teachers. 8 performances were held, with active participation of the audience.
As one of the participants mentioned, it is interesting to show such real scenes in any kind of area, without requisites.
The forum-theatre got invitation in order to show the performances to the other teachers and rest of pupils.

“I want the kindergartens to be the basis of education” – mentioned the chairperson of Kutaisi GAC – Irma Petriashvili on the 13-th meeting of the council.
It was decided to prepare project in direction of training kindergarten teachers and submit for co-financing on the meeting of Sakrebulo.
It was decided to conduct research, of how are the kindergarten heads, teachers, psychologists regarding state standards in pre-school premises.
The problem of bulling in schools was also discussed and the ideas of its prevention were raised.
Radio “Dzveli Kalaki” aired activities of Senakiu GAC with the issues which are advocated by Senaki Women Voters’ Club together with the GAC and local self-government – among them the issues of legalization of living spaces of the IDP groups living in Senaki.
The program also told about a project, which is implemented by the GAC members in pre-school premises in direction of gender education. In frames of the mentioned project, conducted trainings showed problems in educational sphere, psycho-social aspects of the violence against women.
The council members spoke about activities in frames of the project. It was said that actuality of the project is once again shown.
The story in TV Company “Rioni” about IDP collective centers in Kutaisi tells us about three of them.
It is dangerous situation in collective center of LTD. There are no windows, the ceiling and fool is damaged, there is only one toilet for 60 persons.
The IDPs have questions regarding criteria of resettlement and the scores, they request alternative living spaces.
The second collective center, is located in Choma. The main problem is roofing. Residents demand to solve the problem under co-financing.
The problem of water supply is raised in the third collective centre “Abkhazia”. The ceiling is damaged and the walls get wet after the rain.
The story was prepared in frames of coalition project of the fund “Sukhumi” - “Involvement of the IDPs residing in Kutaisi in Municipal 2015 budget discussion and advocacy process with the aim of envisaging their specific demands”.
Budgeting of the project “Change of the policy of local government regarding gender budgeting” 7 informational meetings are held with teachers and parents of kindergartens No7, 9, 10, 18, 28, 33, 34 of Kutaisi.
As a result of informational meetings the teachers realized importance of introducing gender components in educational process and expressed a will to be actively involved in similar meetings and training-seminars together with the parents.
The project is carried out by the fund “Sukhumi” and gender advisory council of Kutaisi with the support of Chezh NGO NESEHNUTI (independent socio-ecological movement).
For the members of Ozurgeti Gender Advisory Council (GAC) and young people, mobilized in frames of the project, initiated by the fund “Sukhumi” training on “writing of projects and their management” was conducted.
The training was followed by active involvement of the participants. As a result of their high motivation, the project ideas of the participants were transformed into the projects.
While joining theoretical and practical materials, the training was acceptable, understandable, effective, fruitful.
How do conflicts start and develop, how its’ negative results are connected with violence, how can be the conflict solved…these issues were discussed by the youth in Kutaisi, Tskaltubo and Khoni.
Most interesting was the discussion in Khoni, public school No3. There were different opinions regarding, how should be the functions of man and women disseminated in the family, in order not to discriminate any of them and do not cause conflicts.
By the opinion of the youth, these discussions will promote to giving the youth correct direction and settlement of non-violent culture in the society.

The volunteer group of the youth club existing in WSC of Khoni organized informational meeting in public school No 3. It was the first activity in this school – 19 pupils spoke about development of gender society in Georgia.
Discussion was special with active audience, involvement, interesting speeches. Both sides were pleased by the meeting and planned future collaboration.

On February 9, in the office of fund “Sukhumi” ordinary meeting of the Club of Voter Women was held. There were discussed the items of the city budget, concerning to the health and social programs. Two problems were revealed. The women will try to advocate them.
The special guest of the meeting was doctor – Gia moshiashvili. He conducted a lecture for the club members (especially teachers), of how to work with children, whose parents are abroad. Besides he put competitive answers to the questions.
As the story in the TV Company “Rioni” tells, the fund “Sukhumi” gave the members of Kutaisi Sakrebulo and GAC, possibility to take part in the training “gender in educational sphere and in city budget”, supported by the Czech partner organization NESEHNUTI.
In the story demonstrated how gained experience can help participants, how the work will continue in the GAC project for gender education in preschool premices.
Participants noted that the training gave them an idea how you can be supported implementation of gender policies at the local level, in the local budget, so that would be positively reflected on the lives of citizens - primarily women's groups.
In frames of coalition project of the fund “Sukhumi”: “Involvement of the IDPs residing in Kutaisi in Municipal 2015 budget discussion and advocacy process with the aim of envisaging their specific demands”, problems and needs of the IDPs residing in three collective centers were studied.
In collective center of culinary college 51 families reside, the main problem is rehabilitation of the building. The Ministry of Refugees and Accommodation has no right to rehabilitate whole building as together with 32 IDP families there also live 19 local families.
The second collective center, which was aired in the story, is military kindergarten. Here exists the problem of the road and water supply.
On Nikea street, in the building of former 22 kindergarten, 26 families reside, they are satisfied with newly rehabilitated living spaces. They have a desire to arrange a square and greening in the yard.
Informational meeting of the Youth Club was held in Tskaltubo WSC, attended by 10 girls, who actively participated in the discussion on: “development of gender policy in Georgia”.
A familiar theme caused different opinions. Some of them like development of such society, the others name the example of parents’ opinion: "Man is the principal in the family, and he needs a special respect."
Discussion was active, all tried to remain in their positions, but at the end of the meeting, all of them agreed with the opinion that “our generation should live in an equitable and non-violent society."

The fund “Sukhumi” together with GAC of Senaki, implements a project, which envisages the work with the teachers and parents of the kindergartens on the issues of eco-sanitary, gender and domestic violence.
On February 4-6 training of trainers for the members of gender advisory council was held in frames of the project.
During 3 days they worked on the issues: garbage, water, sanitary, gender violence, gender development of the children, psycho-social aspects of the violence towards the kids.
Training participants studied necessary skills for the trainers, which they will use during the trainings in Senaki kindergarten teachers and parents.
The project is financed by Senaki Self-government and fund “Sukhumi”.
On February 5, the block “gust in studio” of the “News in 17.00” was held with participation of two representatives of Batumi GAC.
The show evaluated two-year activities of the council. Concrete results were revealed, achieved by GAC and promotes to establishment of gender policy on local level.
Conducted researches, public discussions on different important issues, informational meetings with civil groups, activities of the club of voter women in direction of advocacy, suggestions, prepared for city budget, programs, meeting with gender advisory council of the Parliament – guests of the show spoke about schedule of the council.
Particular attention was paid to package of recommendations and suggestions presented to the self-government regarding activities of protection from domestic violence. The journalist mentioned that this issue is the most painful among gender cases in Adjara. It was underlined that readiness for collaboration of both branches of local government, activities planned for informing the staff, is worth noting.
As for the future perspectives, it was said that the council is going to submit the projects to the self-government for financing, which will promote to development of local civil groups. Intensive work is carried out on local gender policy document, which will be submitted to Sakrebulo by the name of the council.

62 pupils attended performances of the forum-theatre in public school No1 of Senaki. They showed 7 performances, which caused interesting discussions and active involvement of pupils.
The most impressive was the screen of relation between mother and child. All of them blamed the child and most of them saw themselves and their faults. Then they tried to show how may be the situation solved, what they must do reduce conflict, which may turn into violence. It is one of the results of the forum-theatre.
