Fund “Sukhumi” conducted the youth club for the first time in public school No 1 of Senaki. It was the first meeting of NGO sector in schools. The meeting was participated by 14 pupils of the 10-th grade.
The topic of the meeting was unfamiliar for them: “development of gender policy in Georgia”. At first they set silent and then actively began to discuss traditions, role of the man, especially in Samegrelo. They mentioned that this is interesting and important issue, but it is difficult to establish, as stereotypes has a great influence on people.
Similar to other schools, the information about fund “Sukhumi” was heard with interest, youth club and volunteer group was created.

Local and IDP population gathered in Senaki Women Support Center. Individual and general problems were announced on the meeting of Voter Women’s Club.
Nani Shengelia raised a problem of roofing her house, Makvala Pirtskhalava – (socially unprotected, widow, unemployed) had a problem of equipping the house. The club addressed local government with written statement, asking solution of these problems.
There were also mentioned problems of rehabilitation of Deda Street and gasification, which will be advocated during next meeting.
12 young people gathered in Kutaisi Women Support Center. During a meeting, they received information regarding a new project of the fund “Sukhumi”. One of the main issues was development of gender society in Georgia. Volunteer students’ group was created, as the youth considers that discussed issues are actual.
Some participants of the meeting mentioned that they do not agree with all opinions, have different views regarding some details, but the main thing is that they try to ruin the stereotypes…similar meetings strengthen them in this process.

A three day training was held in Tbilisi for the trainers in direction of using art-therapy in Psychology, pedagogy and everyday life. Training was held by the specialist from Russia – Natalya Nelidova.
“Metaphoric – associational cards have a history of 20 years. It is an effective instrument. It is used together with family therapy, geshtaltheraphy, art therapy” – mentions one of the participants, psychologist of the fund “Sukhumi” – Manana Gotsiridze. We take concrete cards is not ususal thing. We look at the cards and the words and images come to mind themselves, they fall into the very essence, open the innermost. It's amazing. But it is surprising that different people give different interpretations of the same cards. This method helps to create a climate of confidence, to understand the difficult situation."
The training showed participants new possibilities of individual and group work.

The program was prepared in frames of the project “Involvement of the IDPs residing in Kutaissi in Municipal 2015 budget discussion and advocacy process with the aim of envisaging their specific demands”.
The journalists met the residents of three collective centers (hotel “Kolkheti”, musical school-asylum, auto factory settlement), familiarized with their living conditions, made interviews with detail description of IDP needs and problems. The story aired round table of the fund “Sukhumi” with representatives of local self-government, IDP regional services and Abkhazian Autonomous Republic.
Members of self-government noted when and how will it be possible to solve IDPs problems.
The story was aired on February 1 and it showed the audience collaboration between civil society and local government, which will by no means have positive results.
The fund “Sukhumi” conducted one more informational meeting with Georgian and Armenian population residing on Chokhatauri Street. Last year, the population raised the issues of repairing the flats (the roofs), damaged from the disaster, as well as the question of roads and gasification.
The meeting also announced problems of youth. It was said that there is no possibility for development of the youth – population demands from the state to build sport square or other places of amusement.
Residents of Chokhatauri Street addressed the Mayor for solution of this problem.
Pleasant news: in Ozurgeti there were created youth Sakrebulo (with 15 members) and gender advisory council (with 5 members), which will be responsible for youth part of gender policy.
These young people were named during the youth forum of Ozurgeti GAC. The forum “gender culture” was held in conference hall of Ozurgeti Sakrebulo as the final step of the project “youth for support of gender policy support”.
High level of the forum was caused by:
Participants – pupils, trainers, GAC members, representatives if the fund “Sukhumi”.
Guests – political elite of Ozurgeti, heads and members of both Sakrebulos, representatives of different structures and media.
Form – expert view, group work, revealing of problems and the ways of their solution.
The work of forum was fruitful and achieved result – effectiveness of the project was obvious, working strategy was elaborated, new project proposals and initiatives were drafted, which will be supported by no means.
In 6 collective centers of Kutaisi informational-consultative meeting was held with the IDPs, with participation of 45 women from 20 to 65 years old. At first the psychologist was met by 11 people.
Main issue of the meeting was “self-evaluation” – opinion about yourself, believe and seeing and evaluation of your own “I”.
Mini-lectures, discussions, tests were held. Also two individual consultations regarding relations between parents and children were conducted.

Project “Youth for Promotion of Gender Policy”, implemented by Ozurgeti Gender Advisory Council, shows gender education of the pupils of upper classes from 5 schools, idea of alternative youth Sakrebulo and gender council, summarizing forum, which made obvious the results of the project – TV story in “Guria” show position of the youth participating in the project, GAC members, and positions of self-government.
“We hope that these young people will be actively involved in the life of region, city. They have interesting ideas and the main thing, they love their town” – these are evaluations of young people’s enthusiasm made by GAC members.
On January 30 fund “Sukhumi” conducted round table in frames of the project “Involvement of the IDPs residing in Kutaissi in Municipal 2015 budget discussion and advocacy process with the aim of envisaging their specific demands”.

Representatives of the state structures familiarized with IDP problems and package of suggestions, they came prepared and answered numbers of actual questions.
The IDPs learned that it is important to create landlord communities, in order to receive services relevant for the programs envisaged by the budget from self-government.
Representatives of Sakrebulo and City Hall gave their phone numbers to the audience and promised to assist them in some issues. This is an example of collaboration between society and local government for improvement of IDP living conditions.
Consultations of the lawyer in WSCs touched different issues. Participants of the meeting got interested in problems existing in database of socially unprotected families. They received information regarding changes in the law, which will regulate mentioned issues.
How is extension of living space allowed, how are restrictive and protective orders given to the rapist, how does the law regulate the issue of heritage - these were the issues, discussed on the meetings in Khurcha, Senaki, Poti and Khoni.

On January 28, TV “Rioni” aired a program, which told the audience about results of Kutaisi Gender Advisory Council activities, collaboration with self-government and projects, implementation of which is planned. During the show position of the citizens was shown, how do they see the role of council and what issues do they foresee in the day schedule. There was announced position of the parliament members regarding necessary activities for establishing local gender policy. Activities of the council were evaluated positively.
The show was attended by council members, youth, representatives of local social institutions. Discussions once again showed vectors of council activities. Main stress was made on documents of local gender policy, which was elaborated by the council and now it is lobbed on the local level, in order to define lo0ng-term perspective in this direction.
In public school No 2 of Tskaltubo, the forum-theatre was attended by 50 pupils and teachers. The audience watched 7 performances, which caused their interest and inclusion in the discussion.
The attendants expressed a will to create a forum theatre in school with the help of fund “Sukhumi”, as they liked this form of expression and relation with the people.

The lawyer of Ozurgeti Gender Advisory Council conducted informational meeting with the residents of Megrelidze. This street is a bounder with the village Ozurgeti. Majority of residents in this village have cattle, and it is very important for them to own land where they can grow corn and other annual crops. But their problem is that they use the land, which is not registered in the public register.
Population was given advice, how to register the land. They also received information on inheritance and family law.
With new project of the fund “Sukhumi” mobilization meetings in frames of the project goes on. The meetings were held not only in those places, where there are WSCs (Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Senaki, Poti, Khurcha), but also in near villages – Ivandidi (Khoni Municipality) Ternali (Tskaltubo Municipality), Bataia (Senaki Municipality) Koki (Zugdidi Municipality).
Mobilization meeting were held in 5 cities and 5 villages.
They spoke about new projects, aims, planned activities.

Regional TV Company “Egrisi” aired activities of Senaki Gender Advisory Council. On the initiative of council the self-government supported a project, which will promote to inclusion of gender education components in pre-school educational system and assistance of raising professional skills of the staff. The project is the part of local gender policy, lobbying of which is actively carried out by the council.
Members of council, representatives of sel-government speak about activities, planned in frames of the project.
Where does the conflicts start, how do they develop, how are its negative results connected with domestic violence – these issues were discussed on a work-shop in WSCs of Tskaltubo, Khoni, Poti, attended by 40 women.
Participants analyzed development, dynamics, results of the conflict by real, live examples.
By the opinion of women, domestic violence is directly connected with violence, as it promotes to creation of rapist and victim.
At the end of the work-shop the participants mentioned that conflict management gives guarantee of violence prevention. Participants underlined necessity of informing society regarding these issues.
According to situation, two women were given recommendations, to use free consultations of the fund “Sukhumi” psychologist.
