In the centre of Kutaisi, in the park of love the forum-theatre of the Fund “Sukhumi” conducted 7 performances, 4 of them was new. As for the involvement, the viewers could not manage to play in the open air, but the discussion was interesting. The public was under impression for a long time. The play of young actors was espesially interesting for the viewers of old age.

07.04.14 – in the public school No 6, (named after Zhiuli Shartava) Kutaisi, forum theatre conducted 8 performances. It was followed by discussions, activeness of the teachers.

It was interesting to watch the scene of jalousy, with participation of 4 pupils. The young people gave life examples – such examples create forum-theatre new performances.

06.04.14 - Performances of the forum-theatre were conducted in Khoni WSC.

5 plays were staged, new scenes among them and the discussions were very interesting. The most interesting was the scene of father and son’s relations in the family.

Forum-theatre of the Fund “Sukhumi” conducted performances in the public School No23 of Kutaisi. 8 scenes were shown and 4 of them were new.

Participants were actively involved. An interesting discussion was made. 

“This show makes us to think things over: how to live, appreciate adults, how to behave in concrete situations. I like it and envisage lots of things” – mentioned one of the viewers.

- This is a very good method to show the audience society’s diseases, violence, indifference, pride, and disrespect for elders whichare so common in our way of life - that is the evaluation of teachers. Schoolchildren were also satisfied with what they saw and heard. The forum-theatre of Fund "Sukhumi" showed their performance at the school number 1 in Tskhaltubo. They showed five scenes, among which three were new. There were up to fifty persons in the hall and they were actively involved in the discussion. At the request of the Directorate, another meeting was scheduled with the participation of not only the schoolchildren of that school, but also the other two schools of Tskhaltubo.

Participants of the Forum-theatre Festival played in the performances of the forum-theatre of Fund "Sukhumi”, organized in the school # 30 of Kutaisi.

There were held six performances - interesting, professional, and impressive with active inclusion of spectators, as if in the same breath...

The performance was attended by a representative of the donor organization Martin Hyt’ha. He said that he knew a lot about the forum-theater, visits the web-site with great interest to read fresh information about the forum-theatre, but one should see it with his or her own eyes, as it is impossible to convey these feelings...

The time of youth forum theatres continues in Batumi!

Casting of actors has been completed in three schools of the city. Then there were rehearsals, and now it's time for performances.

Scripts came out very interesting and relevant: the pupils of the second school paid attention to psychological violence, the script of the first school was about violence in schools, and the seventh school presented different scenes, including violence between friends.

The performances were attended by the leaders of the schools who liked active involvement of pupils very much.

The small project fulfills its mission – forum-theatres have been created in schools. Now it is necessary to improve them. Trainings and master classes planned within the framework of the project will help the beginner actors.

And before they will held rehearsals by themselves.

The time of youth forum-theatres continues in Batumi!

The work has moved to a new phase. This time casting was held in the three schools of the city. In the school number one eight pupils expressed their desire to play in the forum theatre, in the school number 2 - 14 pupils, and in the school number 7 - 21 pupils.

The director and actors of the Forum-theatre of Fund "Sukhumi " held master classes for them that was very interested for each participant.

Very soon in Batumi will be formed three school forum theaters. Each of them should consist of 5 pupils, but no one wants to leave the project - they all want to stay...

In October forum-theatre of Fund "Sukhumi” conducted two performances in Kutaisi and Tskhaltubo.

The audience saw the relevance of the topics chosen by young actors. Attendees actively involved in the performances and during discussions tried to find solutions to difficult situations. It's not easy, but the audience understood that it is impossible to remain indifferent and passive, since violence is the problem of not only separate people...

The work will take place within the framework of a small project "Youth for non-violent culture", which is supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Adjara Autonomous Republic.

On the first day performances were held by the experienced Forum theatre of Fund "Sukhumi" in schools, number 1, 2 and 7. Pupils of Batumi schools are very interested in this new form. They expressed a desire to join this interesting work. The next time they will be provided with master classes and involved in the work of the school forum - theaters.

One of the meetings was attended by representatives of the Ministry. During the meetings there were distributed posters and press-releases about the project.

In a beautiful park on the bank of the river Rioni, young actors of the forum-theatres of public schools # 5, 23, 30 and 31 of Kutaisi and students of the school from Khoni replaced each other.

 There were played many life dramas - violence against the mother, the child, the conflict between husband and wife, and conflicts within families.

 The audience was stunned. Residents of the city and tourists applauded the actors, included themselves in the performance, debates, and took pictures. Many attendees saw themselves in the role of a victim and a perpetrator.

Many have decided to change their life style.

The festival has been covered by the television and radio, and there were also published articles, so more people will learn about this interesting event.

"If that happened in my youth, I would have avoided many mistakes. These are very real pictures”.

This was said by one of the spectators, an elderly man after the performance that was held in the park at Ninoshvili street in Kutaisi and was attended by 40 persons.

The second performance was held in IDP settlement in Tskhaltubo. The majority of the spectators were men. They did not like public manifestation of violence and they declared: "We don’t have violence problem. This is a play and you are actors!”

This opinion has caused irritation among the spectators. They mentioned that the facts shown in small scenes are not invented, and often occur in life.

The second topic – attitude to elderly people - did not leave anyone indifferent.

This was expressed in comments too. Young people saw themselves in the scenes and admitted that they were ashamed of their actions.

This is an impact of the forum-theatre’s truth on spectators that was said abruptly and dryly.

In August, forum theater of Fund "Sukhumi" held four performances in the weather.

For some spectators in the central park of Kutaisi forum-theater was familiar but some first saw this genre and were even surprised with the courage of actors.

At that time there were lots of young people in Khoni Central Park, they involved in the performances and active discussions.

Particularly interesting were the performances held in sea resorts - Ureki and Batumi. After the performances young people were asking about the "biography" of the forum-theater and the theme of violence. Actors told them much...

One of the spectators, Tiko from Tbilisi, said: "These are unusual mini-plays, natural, free and, most importantly, exciting, because in one moment (during a scene between a grandmother and a grandchild), I imaged myself. Thank you for such interesting performances".

In August, forum-theater actors filled in their facebook page with numerous photos and informational materials.

Both owners and guests were waiting for this day. The meeting was exciting. For the first time young actors were playing for people deprived of their freedom.

Forum-theatre of Fund "Sukhumi" was invited by social workers to the Geguti colony. There were celebrated the days of culture.

The forum-theater showed four scenes. All of them (the conflict between mother and son, domestic violence, violence against grandmother, the problem of children- beggars) made a big impression on the audience.

This was new and unusual form of presentation for the convicted.

The dialogue took place without words. With eyes, applause, sad glance, unsaid protest or frugal phrases "I agree", "I condemn the violence!"

During the last performance, when a little beggar reached out to the audience and said, "Help!" there happened something unusual and surprising in the hall - boys and elderly men were laying on the hands of Tamuna Ioseliani everything they had with them - crosses, hearts, bracelets, different things made with their own hands...

Gifts were given to young actors after the performance too, when the forum-theatre was leaving the yard of the colony.

"It's the warmest gift I have ever received", - wrote Daro Kvaratskhelia on her facebook account. And the forum-theatre account was filled in with the photos from an unusual place.

On this day, the forum-theater actors left in the colony the information for thought, and took the ineffable love and support with them.

Forum theatre of Fund "Sukhumi" appeared in Women's Support Centre of Khoni with an updated repertoire. Scenes of violence caused special discussion among pupils. Their protest was clear and easy to understand: violence against women is evil and it should not happen.

 - What to do, what should be changed, or what they would do to avoid such evil - discussion continued in this direction.

 Some attendees replaced actors and changed the scenes in a positive direction.

 - More alarm from society, more protest to any kind of violence - this was the common position of the participants.

It is good to be in the role of a spectator. It is difficult, but it is very important to become a participant of performance, when you say "no" to violence with your actions. Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to solve the problem", - said Giorgi Burjanadze, a spectator of the forum-theater performance which took place in the Green Hall of A. Tsereteli University of Kutaisi.

According to students such discussion is very effective, since spectators have the opportunity to realize the magnitude of the problem of violence and to think on solutions.

During the discussion there were often heard phrases that as much people as possible should see these performances that society can feel responsibility to those who are victims of violence.

-                     As if I saw a problem of my family and looked at it quite differently. I re-analyzed my behavior and found a lot of mistakes. Many people should see these scenes to be able to analyze and assess the situation properly - this opinion was expressed after the forum-theater performance in the school № 2 in Kutaisi.

The audience, including teachers and schoolchildren, mentioned that there was a positive background for the discussion. Performances should be arranged in other schools too to involve wider society.
