On October 1, the assistant of the fund “Sukhumi” conducted a meeting in the private culinary college. It was attended by 14 girls. The topic of the meeting was ethics, esthetics and sexual education.
The audience had a lack of information regarding these issues, though they took part in discussion. The other meeting was also planned, which will have positive influence on them.
This issue was also discussed with 12 girls in Tskaltubo WSC, they expressed their opinions and spoke about the problems.
-It is not so convenient to speak about sexual education, but ethics and esthetics is too important. Similar meetings will partly improve the problems, existing in our relations, mentioned one of the girls.
The meeting was also held in Khoni WSC. It was participated by 9 boys and 2 girls. The topic of the meeting caused active discussion, the boys were too active. One of them mentioned: “It is an interesting issue, but the society is not ready for the discussion. Similar meetings will be good background for this.”

During the meeting in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the staff of the Ministry met the representatives of the NGOs, working on the issues of women’s rights.
The deputy of the Minister – Levan Izoria familiarized with the news established for increasing of effectiveness of the struggle against women violation and domestic violence. The department of public relations presented information regarding planned and implemented activities for raising of citizens’ awareness.
The meeting once again proved that prevention of domestic violence is a prior direction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and collaboration with the civil sector will go on.

There were lots of people in the collective centers as September and learning year has started.
The mobilizers conducted traditional informational meetings in WSCs of Kutaisi, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Poti, Senaki and Khurcha.
The participants talked about peace together with many other issues (domestic violence, resettlement, advocacy of everyday problems). It is essential for normal life. The issue of peace was chosen mainly with the reason that September 21 is international day of peace by the decision of UN.

Representatives of the fund “Sukhumi” met the staff of Ukrainian kitchen “Khutorok” in Kutaisi. They were interested in the living conditions of Georgians and representatives of ethnical minority, what problems do they have, how they are adopted in Georgia.
It was mentioned that Georgian and Ukrainian staff members (12 women out of 15 ones) have similar problems, but in spite of this they have harmonic and friendship relations.
-I am Ukrainian from the side of mother and Russian from the side of mother. I was born and grown up here, I have good relation with the Georgians – mentioned Lyubov Popova.
There also work two IDP women. They live on a former territory of kindergarten. They say that rehabilitation process is started and wait for awarding the premises into possessions.
The questions regarding resettlement were answered by the lawyer of fund “Sukhumi”, who gave suitable recommendations.
On September 28-29, on the meeting of peacekeeper women in Istanbul, the activists of the fund “Sukhumi” and Abkhazian organization AWA spoke about the activity, implemented within the joint project.
The cycle of trainings, round tables and work-shops, regarding the issues of women, gender, peace and human security, by opinion of participants it was very important for the women and girls, as well as for those who were directly involved in the project activities. The women and other groups not only received information, but also learned to identify the problems and managed to advocate several issues.
The meeting participants mentioned that they saw the meaning of raising human security, mainly gender safety to the political level and importance of consolidation of civil groups, different official structures, media and public organizations for ensuring reforms of security sector. They expressed a will to continue the project to strengthen the groups, which have serious problems in the issues of security, also to cooperate with the structures, which can change existing policy and practice.
The meeting was attended by the representative of donor organization, who positively evaluated the effort of both organizations to make the women and girls of their settlement more active for protection of their rights and establishing stable peace.

Consultations of psychologist for 27 beneficiaries were conducted in the WSCs of Tskaltubo, Khoni and Poti. The main issue of the conversation was crisis among the couples and risk-factors. The topic was interesting and useful for the women. They were involved in the discussion with great interest and practical examples from private relationship.
Besides that, individual consultation was held for 2 children and 3 lady. Importance of individual meetings was caused by the problem connected with the children of difficult behavior.
As for the women, the reason of individual meetings with them, is depression, caused by hard life.

During the network meeting, the mobilizers presented report of the work, carried out in September in WSCs of Kutaisi. They talked about celebrating international day of peace on September 21, by the women support centers
Project assistants presented to the mobilizers declaration of resettlement of the IDPs from the occupied territories of Georgia and transferring accommodations to the IDP families by the Ministry of Refugees and Accommodation in a symbolic price in the ownership.

On September 23, the fund “Sukhumi” conducted ordinary meeting for the local media sources in the center of democratic involvement of Batumi. There was announced information regarding the work of gender advisory council, conducted researches, also regarding the activities for advocacy of the issues regarding women social protection, carried out by Batumi Voter Women’s Club.
The members of the GAC mentioned, that they permanently feel support from the side of media and appreciate their high social responsibility towards sensitive attitude to the citizens’ problems. It was mentioned, that number of questions, initiated by the council, was aired by local media.
The press-briefing, together with other activities of the fund, was aired by local media sources.

The 9-th ordinary meeting of Batumi GAC was devoted to discussion of the results of conducted research: “Analysis of Batumi 2014 year budget, envisaging gender aspects”. Elaboration of suggestions and recommendations started, which will be submitted to the local self-government, in order to envisage gender parameters in new budget programs and projects.
The meeting was also attended by the representatives of Kutaisi and Ozurgeti Gender Advisory Councils. It made possible to exchange valuable information for sharing experience. The members of the meeting considered the initiative of the fund “Sukhumi” interesting, regarding creation of GAC network and planning of joint activities.
The schedule of the meeting was aired by the local media, which periodically expresses interest towards the gender issues.

The representatives of Kutaisi media gathered for traditional informational meeting, each of them, as usual had lot of things to speak about and share with each other.
The journalists are actively involved in all projects of the fund. As they say, this work gave them gender vision and it is seen in their works.
Informational meeting was finished with gender task – the journalists wrote, what topics will they write about and what will they do till their future meeting.
The meeting was aired by the channels “Rioni” and “Mega TV”.
September 21 is the international day of peace by decision of the UN, it is celebrated since 1982.
Several actions were devoted to this day in all WSCs of the fund “Sukhumi”, Khurcha and Khoni among them. The action was participated by the activists, local population, representatives of government.
The action was finished with raising the kites in the sky.

Domestic violence – problem of society – it was a topic of conversations held in Kutaisi, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Khurcha, Senaki and Poti.
The issue is actual for the youth, they analysis problem, don’t lose Georgian traditions and do not was to stay aside the news appearing in our society.
“Each time we discuss the issue, we learn more interesting and necessary” – says one of the participants – Nino Chagunava.
There were active, sincere discussions, interactive while the meeting. There were interesting histories and discussions round them.
The young mothers were too active. They shared experience to the girls.

The representatives of the fund “Sukhumi” met the teachers and pupils of school No 3 Senaki. By the words of the head of school - Maka Nanieshvili, there are representatives of different nationalities (Russians, Ukrainians, Armenians, Iesids) among 360 pupils. They are integrated with Georgians and have good friendship. They are successful even after finishing the school.
-Karina Ustian got 70% of grant, The pupil of the fifth grade – Aksana Kantueva is very successful, she knows her native language as well as Georgian language.
With the support of local government, the opimpic games are planned in future. The aim of the project is integration of disabled people. There are 14 Disabled children in school.
Legal consultation of the lawyer was conducted during an informational meeting. The participants received answers to their questions.
Topic of conversation – peace in family: how to achieve it. (Handout - recommendations of the psychologist). How to achieve understanding? How to behave in conflict situation? How to stop the conflict?
There were exercise about the rights and duties in family. While making the exercise, women were talking:
-We have taken too much obligations. We have left our husbands without function, they have only biological function.
-We have no enough time to do lots of work, we have no time and strength for relationship with the children.
-We are tired, we have lost nice women face.

Journalists from Ozurgeti are involved in the work of gender advisory council, participate in the projects, prepared by the council, some of them independently conduct work-shops on gender issues with the youth. That is why we cooperate with the most active journalists by the gender side.
On September 12, traditional informational meeting with them was held with usual activity, business discussions, plans and ideas.
At the end of meeting each of them received gender task and decided what exactly they would do for the future meeting.
On the meeting of Senaki GAC, held on September 12 in the conference hall of Senaki Gamgeoba, new composition of the council was chosen. By the majority of voices, Nana Alania – chairperson of social issues’ commission was elected as the head. By the agreement with council members, Koba Kilasonia was elected as the deputy. All above mentioned is caused by changes in Sakrebulo after self-government elections.
New chairperson – Nana Alania mentioned that she will have her own share in the work of council and expressed a hope of support from side of the whole group.
Other issues were also discussed on the meeting (Future training for the council members of all three cities, planned projects).
One more meeting was held with the representatives of ethnical minorities, residing in Chokhatauri Street. Participants of the meeting once again familiarized with the work of Ozurgeti Gender Advisory Council and asked them to be a mediator between them and local government for solution of the problem existing in their settlement – water supply system is old and amortized, the roof, damaged after strong wind requires repairing, there is no gas on the territory. The problem number one is unemployment.
These issues were also discussed by Ozurgeti GAC and they raised a question in the local government and now they address new government for solution of the mentioned problems.
