Informational meeting of the youth club devoted to women’s solidarity day was held in Tskaltubo – public school No1.

It was interesting meeting, inter-active, conversation with the youth on interesting issues and active discussion.

Participants expressed satisfaction and a great desire to attend similar meetings more often.

In public school No 7 of Poti, there was held informational meeting of the youth club attended by 12 pupils.

The meeting touched such issues as: feminism, women solidarity for protection of their rights.

From the beginning of the meeting lack of information was felt regarding the topics for discussion, so time was mostly devoted to the main topic.

The participants expressed a will of further meetings, which may be considered as a concrete result.

 In public school №1 of Poti was held an informational meeting of the Youth Club, which was attended by 17 girls.

 Interestingly been disclosed theme "Development of gender community in Georgia." After active discussion was talking about future plans – on March 6, a group of volunteers and active members of the Youth Club in the Women's Support Centre of Poti will hold an informational meeting.

Ordinary meeting of the Club of Voter Women was held in Ozurgeti Municipal Sakrebulo. Members of the club and council gathered in the room of gender advisory council. Chairperson of the GAC, member of Sakrebulo – Lela Natsvaladze talked about results of Council work and two projects, to be implemented in future. She also spoke about that part of the council work, which will promote to advocacy of the problems of local population together with the Club of Voter Women.

Participants of the meeting also mentioned women’s days (March 3, 8) and planned the ways of their celebration.

The volunteer group of the youth club existing in WSC of Khoni organized informational meeting in public school No 3. It was the first activity in this school – 19 pupils spoke about development of gender society in Georgia.

Discussion was special with active audience, involvement, interesting speeches. Both sides were pleased by the meeting and planned future collaboration.

On February 9, in the office of fund “Sukhumi” ordinary meeting of the Club of Voter Women was held. There were discussed the items of the city budget, concerning to the health and social programs. Two problems were revealed. The women will try to advocate them.

The special guest of the meeting was doctor – Gia moshiashvili. He conducted a lecture for the club members (especially teachers), of how to work with children, whose parents are abroad. Besides he put competitive answers to the questions.

Informational meeting of the Youth Club was held in Tskaltubo WSC, attended by 10 girls, who actively participated in the discussion on: “development of gender policy in Georgia”.

A familiar theme caused different opinions. Some of them like development of such society, the others name the example of parents’ opinion: "Man is the principal in the family, and he needs a special respect."

Discussion was active, all tried to remain in their positions, but at the end of the meeting, all of them agreed with the opinion that “our generation should live in an equitable and non-violent society."

Fund “Sukhumi” conducted the youth club for the first time in public school No 1 of Senaki. It was the first meeting of NGO sector in schools. The meeting was participated by 14 pupils of the 10-th grade.

The topic of the meeting was unfamiliar for them: “development of gender policy in Georgia”. At first they set silent and then actively began to discuss traditions, role of the man, especially in Samegrelo. They mentioned that this is interesting and important issue, but it is difficult to establish, as stereotypes has a great influence on people.

Similar to other schools, the information about fund “Sukhumi” was heard with interest, youth club and volunteer group was created.

Local and IDP population gathered in Senaki Women Support Center. Individual and general problems were announced on the meeting of Voter Women’s Club.

Nani Shengelia raised a problem of roofing her house, Makvala Pirtskhalava – (socially unprotected, widow, unemployed) had a problem of equipping the house. The club addressed local government with written statement, asking solution of these problems.

There were also mentioned problems of rehabilitation of Deda Street and gasification, which will be advocated during next meeting.

12 young people gathered in Kutaisi Women Support Center. During a meeting, they received information regarding a new project of the fund “Sukhumi”. One of the main issues was development of gender society in Georgia. Volunteer students’ group was created, as the youth considers that discussed issues are actual.

Some participants of the meeting mentioned that they do not agree with all opinions, have different views regarding some details, but the main thing is that they try to ruin the stereotypes…similar meetings strengthen them in this process.

In January the last meeting of the youth club was held in public school No 1 of Poti with participation of 13 pupils.

It was the first time for them to speak about a problem of violence, they had no information about a law. Because of it they were less active, but learned a lot and expressed a will of future cooperation.

During a meeting, a group of volunteers was created, which will spread information among the youth.

In public school No1 of Senaki informational meeting of the youth was held. It was attended by 26 pupils. They familiarized with history and activities of the fund “Sukhumi”.

The topic of the meeting – prevention of domestic violence was new for the pupils, but despite this active discussion was held, new initiatives were made and then voluntary group of 10 pupils was created, which planned activities.

-Similar issues are not discussed in school, you are the first, who made us to think about issues of violence. We spoke about interesting and important issues. I will be an active member of the club, – mentioned one of the boys.

In WSC of Tskaltubo, meeting of the youth club was held, with participation of 11 young people. Meeting of the issues of violence was inter-active.

As it was noted this problem was not evident because of our traditions and rules, but the time changes…similar meetings change awareness of the youth and they make a choice in benefit of non-violent society.

A group of volunteers was created on the meeting, which will closely collaborate with WSCs.

In public school No6, named after Jiuli Shartava – Abkhazian Autonomous Republic (Kutaisi), informational meeting of the youth network of the fund “Sukhumi” was held.

The meeting was attended by 14 young people. They got interested in the issue of violence and active discussion was held.

At the end of the meeting, a group of volunteers was created and interesting activities were planned. One of the teachers mentioned that this issue is less discussed and it is good that the fund “Sukhumi” will conduct similar meetings in educational premises.

In Women Support Center of Khoni informational meeting of the youth club on: “domestic violence – problem of society” was held.

The meeting with participation of 13 young people was divided into two parts. Meeting new members and creation of volunteer’s group. This group will organize different activities.

The second part of the meeting was devoted to discussion of main issue, interesting inter-active, discussion, which showed that the issue is actual and there is still much work to do.

Numbers of activities were planned: involvement of the youth, conducting of informational meetings in the villages.

With the help of the Club of Voter Women in Batumi, this year the women became more active, they attended meetings in Sakrebulo, participated in studying and advocating problems of local  population – thus was summarized a year of work.

Through advocacy, conducted by the club members, several families will receive wood for winter, the system of lightning will be installed in the rehabilitated settlement of the IDPs.

The members of Batumi Women’s Club elaborated a package of problems. The most actual problems were revealed: problem of water and barracks in the settlement of Tamar, compensation for the victims of the disaster, assisting of the people, damaged after the fire in the market of khopa.

The club will start solving the mentioned problems from the next year.

The club of Voter Women once again raised the problems of IDPs from Abkhazia. The territory, which was cleaned with involvement of the fund “Sukhumi” in last Summer is again dirty.

It was mentioned that water supply system in rehabilitated buildings of the IDPs needs repairing. With the aim of problem solution, the members of advocacy group address Senaki Gender Advisory Council.

The club members drew future plan. They are going to involve members of local government, GACs, NGOs and media in problem solution.
