- What is the impact of migration on young people? How do they live or what do teenagers feel whose mothers went abroad to earn money? These questions were discusses for 2 hours at the Round table meeting organized by the students of the School of Young Women-Leaders.

The meeting was attended by NGO representatives, students, schoolchildren and teachers. They noted that the number of people migrating is growing every year and this is due to the social environment in the country. According to the majority of the attendees, children especially need mothers who can not be replaced by anybody, so migration has a negative impact on their lives.

Some participants said that the State must take certain responsibility to work on the reasons of migration.

A three-day training on the topic "Monitoring and Advocacy” was held in fund "Sukhumi”. It was attended by active women IDPs from Khoni, Tskhaltubo, and Kutaisi. These women were selected from the trainings conducted in these cities. According to the participants, the training was important from the informational point of view:

- We’ve obtained interesting information about local self-government, became familiar with local issues that are very important for all of us.

- I have heard a word monitoring many times, but did not know its meaning. During the training, I understood what is monitoring, how it should be planed, and what gender analysis is. We were involved in these processes through practical exercises.

According to trainers the group of participants was particularly active and they will be able to use the theoretical knowledge in practice that means conduction of monitoring in the future.

A telecast organized by Fund "Sukhumi" was transmitted on the air of the TV company "Rioni".

Prior to the beginning of the telecast there was showed a TV plot highlighting the work done by Fund "Sukhumi" within the framework of a worldwide campaign against Gender Violence from November 25 to December 10 around Western Georgia.

In the studio gathered lawyers-experts of Fund "Sukhumi", members of the journalistic discussion club, Forum-theatre actors, students of the School of Young Women-Leaders, representatives of three generations of society.

What is the extent of violence, where should reasons be found, what should be opposed to it, and how to change attitude of society to violence.

The position of youth was interesting. They think that violence has a social content. This is not a private case and is not limited by family, but instead begins to spread in society. This confirms the unfortunate incident that occurred in the region and ended in tragedy.

The conversation touched on the law. They said that the law should protect victims. There were phone calls in the studio and which fixed public interest in the issues.

The day of broadcasting a radio programme of Fund "Sukhumi” on radio "Dzveli kalaki” coincided with the World day of human rights protection.

The radiobroadcast was about the initiative of fund "Sukhumi”, which resulted with the presentation of the new public garden in the centre of Kutaisi. The public garden was opened within the framework of the action against gender violence conducted by fund "Sukhumi” in Western Georgia and, accordingly, it was named the "Public garden of November 25”.

Participants of an international youth training, conducted by fund "Sukhumi" in Kutaisi, spoke about the debate in Caucasus format, held on the problem of violence.

The radio broadcast covered the activities implemented at Women’s Support Center in the village of Khurcha of Zugdidi district. Respondents said that activities conducted in Khurcha by fund "Sukhumi" are very important, since there they discuss issues topical for the women of this particular region.

The radio broadcast also covered a lot of interesting activities held within the framework of the campaign. It shows well that society sees violence as evil and tries to find ways to overcome it.
