"The territorial administration bodies of the local
self-government, services of infrastructure and culture have joined the action
on environment protection held on August 17. They noted that such initiatives
rarely come from civil society, and therefore are particularly respected"
– such information was provided to the participants of the panel dialogue of
the club of Women Voters and local government, where they assessed the results
of the civic initiative.
There was mentioned that the respective services have
already made an estimate of an entertainment corner, and the issue is being discussed in
the City Council. According to the participant of the dialigue - a
representative of the local government, the fact that citizens are ready to
contribute to the improvement of the park, is a precondition for the positive
solution of the issue.
Members of the initiative group noted that the project
has given them a new experience: "At the action held on August 17 we have
convinced once again that civic engagement does not remain unresponsive and is
often supported by the local government, media and citizens, since everyone can
see that it serves to the public good".
