“Peace in Khurcha has different value and emotions, you have quite different feelings”.
“It is impossible not to observe what happens in the world, as conflicts are met everywhere and we have to make parallels to Georgia”.
“The events in Ukraine are the sphere of our interest, as it is very important for us to know what influence the world’s support will have on Russia”.
These were the emotions of young people on the debates in Khurcha. The topic of discussion was “Hot points of the world and Georgia”.
By the opinion of respondents, it would be great to continue conversation on the issues of peace with the youth. Reflection to this suggestion will be “lesson of peace”, which will be conducted in the school of Koki.

On September 11, in the youth center of Kutaisi, an ordinary debate on: “Hot points of the world and Georgia” was held. The meeting was attended by the military journalist – Zaira Mikatadze and the expert Shermadin Mikeltadze.
-Do we forget inner conflicts of our country on the background of the events taking place in the world? Active discussion was held round this issue.
The youth mention that Abkhazia and Samachablo will always be part of Georgia and each of them is ready to put one brick in the process of peacebuilding.
On September 21, on the international day of peace, the youth net of the fund “Sukhumi” plans to conduct “The lessons of peace” in schools, which will once again underline youth’s desire to live in peace.

-Everything what happens beyond our country, often is considered as not so important for us, but negative results of the conflict go so far, that they have influence on each country – this is evaluation of young people, who participated in the debates of Senaki.
They consider that the world society must be interested in the security issues, as the echo of the conflict is so strong that it is spread very far.
The main stress during the discussion was made on a conflict in Ukraine. Majority of participants are the IDPs, so they made parallels with Georgian-Abkhazian conflict. The youth think that discussions on this issue should be continued.

Members of the youth debate – club have a look at political events outside the country. This time they got interested in the conflict of Ukraine.
On the debates of Khoni, the youth mentioned that Georgia is a small country and the conflicts of neighboring countries will always have influence on it. To their opinion we must not stay aside the events and wait for the governments’ position. The youth must fix their position more actively.
It was decided to continue discussion with practical activities. On the initiative of Khoni youth center “Cycling - Peace Marathon” will be held. With this action, they support peace in the world.

What do the youth know about hot points of the world, what influence do the conflicts outside the country have on Georgia, its inner and outer policy. These issues were discussed on the youth debates in Tskaltubo.
The discussion began with overview of the events in Ukraine. To the opinion of the youth, the conflict outside the country will have negative reflection on Georgia, that’s why the attitude of our country – protection of peace and independence of the country should be clear.
The youth think that the world society must be more active for establishing peace and stability in the world and for avoiding appearing of “hot points” on the world map.

- If we want civilization and success, why the youth leaves the country and goes abroad for education, or work…it is essential for our country to reply the standards, demanded by the modern life.
- it is not necessary to see a tragedy in everything, as the people have freedom of choice, everyone can differ good from bad and decide what he wants by his own way.
On August 25 the youth of Khoni once again gathered, in order to express their opinion regarding actual events. How will the European tendencies make influence on our traditions? In answer to this question the youth of Khoni consider that everything new and interesting will be useful for our generation, though we must meet everything news carefully.

On August 22, ordinary youth debates were held in Senaki on: “Europeanization and Georgian traditions”. The youth mentioned:
-We got used to the actions of protest in our country, when part of population express a protest towards the innovations coming from the Europe. That is quite acceptable. Let the population decide and do what they want if it is not contrary to morality.
-Georgia always accepted innovations from the whole world, filtered them and left the best ones. We behave the same way even now. Only the best and acceptable for us will be left.
-I am glad that there are numerous visitors in my country and I consider myself as European too.

- What positive changes will membership in big European family bring to Georgia? What do national values mean for the youth and how is the Europeanization dangerous for these values. Mentioned issues were discussed on debate-clubs in the youth centers of Poti and Khurcha. The participants mentioned that friendship with Europe is essential for development of our country. We must not be afraid of innovations, as they are not dangerous for national values.
Interest towards this issue was caused by the fact that festival of “Kazantip” in Anaklia appeared in the center of attention of the whole society. By the opinions of participants similar debates will prepare new generation, to correctly evaluate processes taking place in the country.

On August 20, interesting youth debates were held in Tskaltubo, on: “Does the European tendencies make negative influence on our national values”. The youth fixed their opinion regarding different foreign festivals or concerts, carried out in our country.
Some of them consider that any interesting event will attract tourists and it will be very useful for our country.
The other part of them think that different rock-concerts, beer festivals and so called festival of Kasantip, makes negative influence on our society, as it spoils the youth and teaches them incorrect sense of freedom.
The youth declares that similar debates gives them opportunity to express their opinion and at the same time teaches them to listen to the others opinions.

In the youth gathered in the centers of Poti and Kutaisi spoke about the role of peace. Debates, which are always actual among the youth, once again proves that youth important role in peace building.
The young people mentioned:
There is an aggressive background in the society, but each person must control emotions.
Involvement of the youth in peaceful activities will regulate the conflicts.
The women have a big role in peacekeeping and we must learn from their experience.
Everybody must define their role correctly, in order to avoid conflicts.
The debates will go on this issue. The youth plans to conduct different peaceful activities, in order to show their role to the society.

There are new hot points on the world map. Informational sources inform us about different war actions. That’s why we must think more about peace – debates in Tskaltubo started with these opinions. The participants remembered Abkhazian conflict, events of 2008. It was mentioned that the people recognize value of the peace only in such period.
The participants of the debates got acquainted with the collection of the fund “Sukhumi” “Peacekeeping and women”.
After defining the role of women, they spoke about the youth. By the received opinion, everyday systematical work is necessary for security of peace. The role of the youth in this process must be defined more clearly.

Majority of the participants were the IDPs, because of it discussion of the peace issue was conducted with exceptional emotions. Whole group supported an opinion of one participant, who claimed that the peace must be protected and supported, as there is always a danger of losing it. Participants remembered events of 2008, while discussion it was mentioned that it is necessary to work for the peace everyday and the youth also must be more involved in peaceful activities. The participants familiarized with the collection of the fund “Sukhumi” – “Peacekeeping and women”.
-There are lots of such women in Georgia too, their activities need support, popularization and presenting to the society – mentioned the participants of the debates.

“It is unbelievable to have development and success without peace”. “If there is a danger of war, there is a danger of freedom, democracy”, = such opinions were fixed on the debate-club of Zugdidi, which was held by the initiative of the Khurcha youth center of fund “Sukhumi”.
The participants got familiar with the histories of the women, they talked about women initiatives.
There was raised a question: who were involved in peacemaking and in what way? The question was followed by hard discussion. By the opinion of the students, the youth in peaceful activities is the serious resource, but this resource was not activated and used.

The youth got interested by the issue of peace on the debate-club of Khoni. The participants familiarized with the collection “peacemaking and women” of the fund “Sukhumi”. After hearing interesting histories of the women, debates were continued on the emotional background and interesting arguments were fixed. By opinion of one participant, peace will not be created by one person, whole society must be involved in the process, the youth among them.
The participants mentioned that the share of the women in peaceful activities is unlimited. Histories of the collection will raise peaceful motivation in any person, peace is contagious and will increase the number of peacekeepers.

Gender analysis of local self-government results, youth activities and involvement in elections – the youth, gathered in Kutaisi youth center conducted discussion on this issue.
It was underlined that in spite of great number of voter women, final choice is made on behalf of men candidates, the results are following women unsolidarity, mentality and other factors. As for youth involvement, it was noted that activity is low, though at the end, as recommendations, there was announced that the elections are in close connection with better future, peace, democracy and the youth got more active through this direction.

In the state University of Meskhia – Zugdidi the youth debate was conducted on: ecology, environment – youth initiatives.
Debate was attended by 26 youth. They were delivered interesting information, how long do the plastic bottles, packages “live” in the nature…
It was mentioned that the state must be more interested in protection of environment, must promote settling of inner culture in the society, that will “force” each person to put the garbage in baskets.
The conversation touched decorating of squares and parks. It was said that in Zugdidi, factory settlement there is a square, where the children play in the garbage, because it is fully damaged.
The youth spoke about their responsibility and added that it is necessary to begin protecting nature by themselves, they noted that youth activity must be more express through this direction.

The youth club of Poti chose following theme for the debates: parents, children and their relationship.
Facilitator spoke about children’s rights, underlined how important is to create correct relationship with children in the early age, in order to have fewer barriers in future.
Debates was attended by the parents, who spoke from the side of the parents and fixed that mothers often are incorrect towards their children and forget that each child is an individual, because of that forced teaching, playing, walking is a fault and abrogation of their rights.
Debate participants consider that informing about this case is essential, particularly young mothers need psychological advices, as correct relations decrease family conflicts.
