- Security means freedom and independence for me.

- Being safe means that the food I eat is not harmful for my health.

- I should not be afraid to go outside at night.

- There should be no violence.

These are the conclusions young people made at the Khoni Youth Centre debates, dedicated to the topic of human security.

Majority of the participants highlighted that their first association with security is the concept of peace which is natural, taking into consideration the specific conditions of our country and the hazards that are easy to notice.

The participants frankly admitted that it was the first time they had thought about the components of human security.

They mentioned that sometimes people wittingly or unwittingly create the unsafe atmosphere themselves, e.g. pollute the environment, eat unhealthy food, violate on others.

The discussions on the topic of security will be continued at other Youth Centres.

Modern professions and employment perspectives – was the theme of active discussion of young people in Poti.

Most of participants mentioned that among the modern professions the leading faculties are: economic, business, foreign languages, as these spheres are more prospective in terms of employment.

However in their opinion Diploma of higher education can’t serve as a guarantee of employment.

-How to get a job? How can we raise the interest of an employer? What is necessary? These were the main questions of the discussion.

As young people think, cooperation with non-governmental organizations, meetings and trainings raise self-esteem and help people identify their strengths.

Senaki Youth Center re-started its activity from the New Year by organizing the debate. Young people have chosen the following issue for the discussion - religious minorities and society.

During the discussion they mentioned that this problem really exists in our society. They talked about specific examples when representatives of different sects became objects of aggression from society, which often ended in conflict.

In the opinion of young people, the rights of religious minorities must not be violated, and society should be more tolerant.

According to the participants of the debate, educational talks on this topic should be carried out often, especially with teenagers. This will significantly reduce the negative results.

Social problems cause serious reasons for family conflicts, but it is possible to manage these conflicts if both sides are interested in their solution– such opinions were heard at the debates held in Tskhaltubo by the Youth Centre.

In young people’s opinion it is not easy to solve social problems, but sometimes their solution does not mean solution of family conflicts. One problem is followed by the second, the second by the third…Reasons are endless. It is possible to avoid conflicts through communication and proper relations.
