Within the framework of the campaign there was carried out a meeting with IDPs residing in the administrative building of the Tractor Factory in Kutaisi. They were provided with the information about the campaign and handed out leaflets, brochures and journals of Fund "Sukhumi".
According to the participants of the meeting, violence against women is a serious problem. They welcome the fact that they had the opportunity to join the campaign.
Mobile discussion club began its movement towards Vani. The theme of discussion was "The place of woman in society". The discussion club was attended by pupils of tenth and eleventh grade of public schools # 1 and 2 in Vani.
The debates were quite lively. The participants’ opinions on the discussed topics were different. They said that they had never participated in such discussions and expressed their desire to participate in such activities in the future too.
Round table of on the theme "Drug addiction, alcoholism, gambling - in the context of domestic violence" was carried out in Women's Support Center of Khoni. The meeting was attended by IDPs from Abkhazia, teachers, school students, journalists, representatives of the local self government.
After the information provided by experts, there was held a discussion and identified interesting views: "environment plays a great role, only education is not enough"...
At the meeting there was fixed an opinion that youth should be informed about such important topics that they were aware of the danger they put themselves.
Meeting of the psychologist was held with women IDPs living in collective centre "Aisi” (a building of former kindergarten) in Kutaisi. The attendees were provided with the information about the 16 days campaign. Afterwards there was held an active discussion about the relevance of the problems of violence in our society. Women IDPs mentioned that they often witness facts of violence caused by alcoholism.
At the end of the meeting participants were handed out leaflets and posters about the campaign.
Young girls gathered at the Women's SupportCenter in Senaki. The workshop was started with this information about the 16-day campaign against violence. Participants were very interested in the history of the campaign.
The subject of discussion was the issue - whether rights of IDPs are infringed, and what every person should do to avoid becoming a victim of violence.
The participants were handed out leaflets, posters, calendars, notebooks, prepared by the Fund "Sukhumi" within the framework of the campaign.
Members of the League of Women-Voters and lawyers of Fund "Sukhumi” once again discussed the problems of women, which require certain changes in the legislation.
Of the large number of problems representative of the eight cities of Western Georgia, invited to the forum, selected the two ones - the extension of maternity leave up to one year and free childbirth. According to the lawyers’ it would be more realistic to work on these issues.
The participants discussed the importance of solving the set problems and about expected outcomes.
