In the hall of Kutaisi State University there was held a demonstration-discussion of the short film "One ordinary day, shot by girls-leaders of fund "Sukhumi". At the beginning of the meeting representatives of Fund "Sukhumi” told the audience about the 16-day campaign against violence and then screened a film.
The main character of the film has difficult situation in the family, which prevents her from establishing relations with her peers. As a result, she was lonely and rejected by society.
Discussing the film the audience considered that the problem of violence was too exaggerated in the film. There was showed psychological impact that could not be considered as violence.
Within the framework of the 16-day campaign Forum-theatre of Fund "Sukhumi" held a presentation at school № 31 in Kutaisi, which was attended by more than 40 senior pupils as well as the school Director and several teachers.
After the presentation, students actively engaged in the discussion, tried to change several scenes of violence with their alternatives and proposed solutions to the problems.
According to the participants, discussion of the problem of violence by the Forum-theatre was rather effective. In their words "everything is happening before our eyes, and one might wish to resist any form of violence."
The psychologist of Fund "Sukhumi" met with women IDPs in the Women’s SupportCenter in Khurcha (Zugdidi district). For the first time the attendees heard the information about the 16-day campaign against gender violence. They talked about forms of violence. According to them, they always are the victims of psychological violence, since they live in a conflict zone.
There was also held a meeting of the lawyer of Fund "Sukhumi" with women IDPs, who answered the questions of participants. There were disseminated posters, calendars, and leaflets about the campaign.
A group of experts OF Fund "Sukhumi" visited children's village "SOS” in Kutaisi within the framework of the campaign.
The meeting was attended by 14 mothers-teachers. The conversation concerned the topic of domestic violence: whether they are informed about this issue, how relevant they consider the problem of domestic violence.
Participants of the meeting asked questions followed by competent answers of lawyers.
Young women gathered at the meeting in the fund "Sukhumi". The theme of the meeting: "Rights of IDPs”. Participants found interesting information about the 16-day campaign. They asked many questions about the campaign.
Discussing the topic, they noted that the rights of IDPs are frequently violated, that young people living in Gali, know nothing about their rights. Participants proposed to establish more contacts with the Abkhaz young people via Internet that will help restore confidence between the two peoples.
