"Unemployment and its solutions through the eyes of young people" – a round table meeting on this topic was conducted by Tskhaltubo group of Young Leaders School.

Participants talked about the problems they face. They said that even higher education does not guarantee employment, which creates serious problems - unemployment is directly linked to conflict, violence and other negative factors.

Attendees mentioned that while finding jobs young people need to better show their capacities. They talked about the importance of professional re-training. They also said about on-line work, that is still new for us, but investigation of this space will help to overcome many problems of young people.

Early marriages pose serious problems – said participants of the roundtable meeting in Senaki.

Members of the School of Young Women Leaders and other participants of the meeting said that negative results of early marriages are mainly reflected on girls: they may not get education and be dependent on others financially and morally. These problems often create conflicts and lead to divorces.

Participants emphasized that such kind of meetings raise awareness of young people.

"We should welcome the fact that the main legislative body of the country in parallel with the ongoing discussions in the local government comprehends implementation of appropriate policies and practices relating to the elimination of violence, since the existence of the law is not only "turning on the green light", but without existing of the correct approaches to the problem and the relevant resources it is impossible to solve the problem” - said participants of the programme.

The radiobroadcast of the radio "Rioni", which covered many interesting and relevant issues was devoted to the active inclusion of Fund "Sukhumi" in the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence Campaign.

Psychologists of Fund "Sukhumi” worked actively during the 16 days of the campaign against violence. On the first day of the campaign a group meeting of the psychologist with women was held in the village Khurcha. Then there were held meetings in collective centres, individual consultations. A meeting with adolescents in one of the social orphanages of Kutaisi was especially interesting.

Adolescents cannot properly control their emotions. That’s why they need psychological help and support, they need individual approach. The work with them was carried out through the method of art-therapy – they drew their emotions, dreams and aims. Initially they could not tune in, but then they drew with all their heart, they were happy that they managed it…

Participation in the projects of Fund "Sukhumi" is important for them.

Activities carried out in the fund have changed their lives.

They have become more active and their motivation has increased.

The project "Strengthening women's voices in decision-making” supported by the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs was especially interesting for them.

They are many, but in the journal "Women's Voice" are published stories about nine of them – active women who are not satisfied by their achievements and strive for great success ...
