Ordinary meeting of Gender Advisory Council was held in Batumi with discussion action plan project of local gender policy and it will be submitted to the Sakrebulo and City Hall in the nearest future.
The meeting approved voluntary project of the council, which will be continuation of the campaign against gender violation. The council members will conduct informational meetings with representatives of local governmental structures, youth, active members of the community. Information leaflets will be spread, which will make available the basic information regarding the problem of violence. The round table and radio shows will be conducted. The youth forum-theatre of the fund will be actively involved in the council project, which will promote to initiate public discussions regarding the problem of violence.

On December 2, 4 and 5, the psychologist of the fund “Sukhumi” conducted consultation in Tskaltubo, Khoni and Poti.
The topic of meetings and discussion was violence against women, psycho-social aspects and prevention.
In Tskaltubo the meeting was held in Music School and in Khoni and Poti – in Women Support Centers. The meetings were attended by teachers, pupils, activit women – 38 people on a whole. The meetings were interesting and fruitful.

Members of the leader girls’ school organized exhibition of paintings in Senaki and Tskaltubo. In school No7 of Abhazian Autonomous Republic (Senaki), the event was participated by the pupils of 3-4 grades and in Tskaltubo – by the pupils of the 8 grade.

On December 9, the students conduced debates on the topic of violence
The young people realized number of violence facts around us and our responsibility regarding this.
-We must be involved in the process of finding prevention ways, for giving the next generation free and non-violence environment, - mentioned the participants of the debates.

The representatives of the fund “Sukhumi” and their partners, who were invited in the TV Company “Rioni” talked about importance and results of 16 day campaign.
“High level of involving in the campaign was provoked by the protest against frequent facts of murdering the women.” “We paid particular attention to the work with the youth. They need discussions about healthy communication. Serious steps were made to establish courses of gender and psychology in schools”. “It was once again revealed that there is no collaboration among the structures, which have responsibility to react properly”. “We are glad that our recommendations regarding importance of inter-structural exchange of information, coincides with the policy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs”.
The program also paid attention to the results, which followed collaboration with the local government.
