The action of November 25, as expression of zero tolerance towards the rapists, other activities of the fund “Sukhumi” conducted in frames of 16 day campaign, the problems, seen by the different groups of society and discussions for their solution, meetings with the psychologist and lawyer of the fund, conversation – healthy communication in family, society, as the best way of violence prevention.

These issues together with the other ones were discussed in the program, prepared by the journalist of the fund.

This year, in frames of the campaign, the meetings in schools was the most important. The teachers give high evaluation to the role of NGO sector in direction of informing and education of the youth. “Informal education in schools has great importance, but relation with qualified NGOs has different effect, because of this we greet collaboration with the fund “Sukhumi”.

On December 10, on the initiative of the fund “Sukhumi” a round table on: “Strategic mechanisms of fighting against domestic violence” was held in Tskaltubo. The round table was attended by: representatives of local self-government, law protecting structures, NGOs, schools, media and active women.

The meeting discussed reasons and preventive mechanisms of violence. Finally the participants elaborated recommendations.

At the end of the campaign, which coincides with the international day of human rights’ protection, he fund “Sukhumi” devoted a TV program. It was attended by the journalists of the fund, media, press, TV and internet agencies, students of the journalistic faculty, also the lawyers  and psychologists.

What is the role of media in solution of the problem of violence, how are the media standards protected, how is the media responsible not only to air the issue, but also to make the reasons of the problem obvious, collaboration of different structures and process of reaction, showing punishment of the rapist or vice versa -  inappropriate punishment. It was underlined that media can promote to prevention of violence and it shows professionalism and high social responsibility of the journalists.

There was a story, which showed attitude of the society towards the problem.
