The lawyer of the fund “Sukhumi” met the staff of Senaki public library. Several problems were revealed – damaged water system, sewage system. Iot is known for service of culture, they raised the issues to competent bodies, but still without reaction.
After meeting the lawyer gave information to gender advisory council. It was settled to conduct extraordinary meeting and they will promote solution of this problem together with the other ones.
In public school No6, named after Jiuli Shartava – Abkhazian Autonomous Republic (Kutaisi), informational meeting of the youth network of the fund “Sukhumi” was held.
The meeting was attended by 14 young people. They got interested in the issue of violence and active discussion was held.
At the end of the meeting, a group of volunteers was created and interesting activities were planned. One of the teachers mentioned that this issue is less discussed and it is good that the fund “Sukhumi” will conduct similar meetings in educational premises.

Joint project of the fund “Sukhumi” and regional media – mini competition for support of social journalistic development was finished. It is continuation of the campaign against violence towards the women – “from peace at home to peace in the world”.
The winners received monetary prize of the fund “Sukhumi”.
As a result of the project there appeared a product, which made the lives of citizens in the regions obvious, it showed not only their problems, but everyday life, future plans. Motivation of regional media was increased to work in direction of social journalistic.

The fund “Sukhumi” organized a training for the members of Kutaisi GAC. Topic of the training was: “gender in educational sphere and city budget”, which with participation of the partners from Czech organization NESEHNUTI.
The training was directed by Kristine Peshakova.
Members of the GAC got interested in experience of Czech Republic, the module of gender education in pre-school premises, gender sensitivity of their budget.
Topic of the training improved their knowledge in gender direction.
-We must start gender education for raising gender awareness in the society with children of pre-school age. First of all, the teachers must obtain relevant education, be aware of gender issues, they must give the boys and girls choice.
Members of Sakrebulo, who are the members of gender council and other participants of training, mentioned that after envisaging recommendations of GAC, 2015 budget of Kutaisi became gender sensitive.
In Women Support Center of Khoni informational meeting of the youth club on: “domestic violence – problem of society” was held.
The meeting with participation of 13 young people was divided into two parts. Meeting new members and creation of volunteer’s group. This group will organize different activities.
The second part of the meeting was devoted to discussion of main issue, interesting inter-active, discussion, which showed that the issue is actual and there is still much work to do.
Numbers of activities were planned: involvement of the youth, conducting of informational meetings in the villages.

Last issue of the journal “women’s Voice” was published, which summarized results, consultations, meetings, achievements, activities, announcements, collaboration aspects of the project “strengthening of women’s rights in Western Georgia”. Three hard years are over, new perspectives are in future.
The fund “Sukhumi” finished its activities in the project “Strengthening of women’s rights in Western Georgia” by evaluating seminar.
The seminar was attended by the staff, mobilizers of Women Support Centers, young actors of the forum-theatre.
The project had several directions: informing, education, monitoring of cases of violence, gaining of skills, legal and psychological services, strengthening of the women for advocacy of their rights, involvement of the society and representatives of the self-government in the activities, which are directly connected with improvement of women’s condition.
The seminar summarized achievements, goals and results of three-year project were compared.
Three hard years are in the past and there are new perspectives, new plans and new approaches towards the old, but still actual problems in future.

“Women, gender, peace and human security” – under this title the fund “Sukhumi” made a documentary film, which reflects the results of the project “women and girls for peace, security and social justice” and tells us about activities and initiatives, which were implemented by the participants of the project.
The film shows peaceful mood of women and girls, makes obvious conducted discussions for strengthening women’s human security, shows the work of the fund “Sukhumi” for involvement of new groups of women and girls in civil activities, collaboration with different structures.
Presentation of the film was held on final seminar, summarizing fund “Sukhumi” activities, on December 28.

In frames of informational meeting, the lawyer met the residents of May 26 street in Ozurgeti. They mentioned that the road is amortized, the gas and water supply is damaged, it is impossible to walk in rainy weather. There is also a problem of lightening. There was prepared a statement, which will be submitted to the city hall and then the problem will be lobbed.
The lawyer conducted 6 legal meetings in December, with the IDPs in Kutaisi. Human rights-basic value of democracy, rights of disabled persons. In frames of 16 active days, the issue of additional meetings was: “Georgian law on elimination of domestic violence, victims’ protection and assistance”, “Rights and duties of the pupils”.
The meeting was attended by 91 citizens.

The memorandum was signed between Zugdidi Municipality and Cultural-Humanitarian Fund “Sukhumi”, the aim of which is to raise effectiveness of collaboration for promotion of establishing democratic principles’ development in the society and gender justice.
Importance of collaboration between NGO sector and local government was underlined for prevention of violence. Signing the memorandum is beginning of new phase of collaboration.

In December 8 group and 4 individual consultations were held in collective centers of Kutaisi. The meetings were attended by 91 women from 20 to 63 years old.
Topic of the conversation – world without violence. Healthy relations – flexible relations.
According to psychologist, human communications, building of healthy family relations, is a difficult and hard process. Harmony is the highest order. The order is a balance inside a person.

It was the last meeting of a year, where the journalists spoke about their social role, changed gender approaches, attitude towards airing actual problems.
The assistant of Kutaisi Gender Advisory Council familiarized the audience with the recommendations, which gender council submitted to Sakrebulo and City Hall and will be envisaged in the budget of next year.
The story, prepared by the journalists of “7 days” informed the audience about results of collaboration between Kutaisi GAC and local government. As the Mayor of the city claims, most part of the recommendations are envisaged in the future budget. Among them infrastructure of kindergartens, raising of qualification of the staff. As the council members claim new budget is more gender sensitive as it was in previous ones – it is a results of collaboration of self-government and civil groups.
The journalists of the TV “Rioni” made a story in frames of the week of human rights protection, which analyses situation in Georgia.
Ordinary citizens, parliament members representatives of NGOs express their opinion regarding this issue. They think that “human rights must be protected not only by the law, but also public ethics”.
The fund “Sukhumi” works in direction of women’s rights protection since 2003. As the chairperson of the fund mentions, the society became more tolerant to aggression and it must be neutralized. The facts of violation must be analyzed, the reasons must be studied and mechanisms of protection must be sophisticated.
