TV plot made by Fund "Sukhumi” before the local self-government elections acquaints us with the programmes of women-candidates and covers their meetings with voters.
Programmes on social protection of citizens, providing help for families with many children, nursing of the pregnant…
This is not a full list of the issues reflected in the programmes of women-candidates.
The plot covers activities of Fund "Sukhumi” for popularization of women-candidates in pre-election period – special issue of "Women’s Voice” containing platforms of women-candidates running for the local self-government elections in Western Georgia, leaflets and posters.
The plot also provides information about Action which will take place on May 27 in 15 cities of Georgia. With the initiative of Fund "Sukhumi” other women’s organizations of Georgia will also joint the Action.

Daredjan Tskhvitaria, Natia Tsetskhladze, Nato Katamadze, Manana Shulaia…
All of them are members of the League of Women-Voters of Western Georgia of Fund "Sukhumi”. Their names are well known to fellow citizens in Poti, Kutaisi and Khobi. Their professional and public-political activity is also known.
A group of journalists of Fund "Sukhumi” made a TV plot which shows multi-party spectrum of women-candidates for the local self-government election.
What are they going to do if they come in local government? How are they going to define priorities in their activity?
Candidates answer these questions!

"In which direction does Fund "Sukhumi” keep working on increasing of women’s political activity? What is planned by Clubs of Women-Voters? What are the results of the research conducted with women’s electorate? What can be predicted regarding local self-government elections? – these questions were discussed by participants invited by Fund "Sukhumi” in the TV studio "Rioni”. Among them were project assistants, members of the League of Women-Voters, representatives of partner organizations.
…The working area of the League of Women-Voters is being expended. Tskhaltubo club has joined this League and brought around active women, who are worried about their city.
… At the training held in Batumi for activists of Clubs of Women-Voters with the purpose of political education of women, there was emphasized importance of election legislation, functions and obligations of local self-government and election education as a whole.
… The conversation also touched upon attitude of media to women’s activeness. Participants wished Media to have positive attitude to those deserved women who are not afraid of taking burden of politics on them.

Participants of the telecast transmitted on the air of the TV company "Rioni” on the 24th of March talked about work carried out within the framework of the project implemented with the support of International Alert. In the telecast participated employees of Fund "Sukhumi”, invited experts, and participants of the meetings.
The TV plot showed before the telecast told about meetings carried out within the framework of the project in towns and districts of Western Georgia (Zugdidi, Kutaisi, Batumi, Poti, Anaseuli, Khurcha, Senaki) where experts presented to different spectrum of society (intelligentsia, students, IDPs, journalists, representatives of governmental and non-governmental sector) with the results of the survey of Georgian and Abkhaz experts – "Dialogue process on security guarantees in the context of Georgian-Abkhaz conflict”.
Experts tried to fix attitude of society towards the aforementioned issues.
During the telecast there were heard opinions which were most frequently expressed at the meetings.
"Society does not want war. When it comes up to conclusion of agreement, society’s positions split”.
"We should agree with Abkhazians in any form but without legitimating of their independence”.
"In the government they do not have single attitude to these issues”.
"We need security guarantees more with Russia, but existence of such base document is one of the main ways for rebuilding of confidence with Abkhazians. At the same time it would be desirable to make it happen on the initiative of Georgia and not on the recommendation of the European Union and other structures.
At the end of the telecast again there was recorded the position of the Fund's board, according to which there necessarily will be continued work on examination of the public attitude towards those issues, that will enable researchers to make deep and detailed analysis of public positions.

A TV plot made by Fund «Sukhumi” within the framework of the project "Management and transparency” (supported by CR) was showed on the air of the TV company "Rioni”.
The plot also covers activity carried out by Fund "Sukhumi” for IDPs living in sanatorium "Medea” in Tskhaltubo. It shows the situation in objects where are being renovated or which have already been renovated.
Based on the statements of the representatives of official structures, since 2010 there has been started new stage which will concern certain category of IDPs living in the collective centres of Kutaisi, in compact settlements of Tskhaltubo and also in the so called private sector.
The head of the local self government of Tskhaltubo, Mamuka Sagareishvili stated that collective centres where IDPs would have to live until completion of the renovation and where they live in unbearable conditions would also be paid appropriate attention.

How far are political parties ready to give women leading positions in lists before the local self-government elections? Is it really a time when activeness of women should give results and on the whole, how far comfortable is for women environment in Georgian politics?
These issues were discussed in the telecast organized on the 18th of February on the air of the TV company "Rioni”. Activists of Fund, members of the Club of Women-Voters, leaders of local non-governmental organizations touched upon the issue of women’s participation in local self-governmental elections.
Picture, drawn by the TV journalists of Fund "Sukhumi” showed once again the situation in political parties functioning in different regions of Western Georgia.
Assistants of Fund talked about results of the monitoring carried out in parties, strategy of Clubs. Participants expressed desire that Fund "Sukhumi” continue work on exchange meetings of Clubs of Women-Voters, women working in the local self-government.
Of course, the problem should be given publicity, but the following concrete steps need to be made: study of public opinion, analysis, work with electorate, political parties, women-candidates.
"What should we expect from elections: perhaps, not very radical changes, but if it goes on so, these changes would never be made. That’s why intensive work will not be interrupted”, - such were positions of the participants of the telecast.
"I am the one of those who will participate in the local self-governmental elections in conditions of healthy competition”, - this statement was made by one of the participants of the telecast. No one doubted her sincerity since resources in this direction really exist.

The first telecast aimed at supporting of the League of women-voters and women’s political participation at regional level was transmitted on the air of the TV company "Rioni”.
In the first part of the telecast there was showed a TV plot made by Fund "Sukhumi” which reminded TV viewers once again what made the previous stage of the project notable, which measures had most significant outcomes, which conclusions were made, what kind of strategy was chosen for the successful implementation of the new stage of the project.
Members of Kutaisi Club of Women-Voters (most of the telecast participants ) welcomed expansion of the working area of Clubs.
"Clubs of Women-Voters should become an example of women’s consolidation for our voters in Georgia”, - such kind of will was by the participants of the telecast.
"We think it’s a good idea to continue exchange meetings. Regional and international format of such meetings was very useful for us and we are very grateful to Fund "Sukhumi”.
The theme of discussion was elections, as the most important political process in Georgia.
"It is no coincidence that we speak about local self-government elections of May 2010 so early. The future of Georgia is much dependent on the indicator of democracy”.
