In Ozurgeti Municipality Council there was held an informational meeting with members of the Council Irina Sajaia and Lela Natsvaladze. They got information about the new project of Fund "Sukhumi” – "Gender Advisory Councils – increasing women’s role in social changes of regions”.

Women – members of Sakrebulo expressed their desire to be involved in the project. They said that local population would benefit from the project since women’s participation in decision making process at the local level should be increased

The project is implemented with the support

 of the UN Women’s Fund for Gender Equality

On the 19^th of September representatives of Fund "Sukhumi” met with women – members of Senaki Municipality Council – Tamila Sordia, Natalia Khubua, and Dinara Khukhua.

They were provided with the information about the project, supported by the UN Women’s Fund for Gender Equality and explained the importance of the City Council’s members participation in the project.

According to the representatives of Fund "Sukhumi” the project is pilot and innovative since Gender Advisory Councils do not operate at the regional level, and this is the first precedent when such kind of informal councils will be created in Sakrebulos of the three cities of Western Georgia (Kutaisi, Senaki, Ozurgeti).
