War and peace – the eternal theme… People seek peace from time immemorial. September 21st marks the International Day of Peace, which was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1982. This day was proclaimed as the day of global ceasefire and non-violence.

Peace is especially valuable for the women – activists of Fund "Sukhumi” that’s why all the six Women Support Centres actively celebrated this day.

In Kutaisi, Poti and Khurcha there were held informational round table meetings. In Tskhaltubo there was organized exhibition of women’s handmade products.

In Senaki school there was organized an exhibition of children’s drawings. Children have also painted peace, seen with their eyes, on the asphalt.

Everything was ready for bicycle marathon in Khoni but the weather was bad and young people continued conversation about peace in the Women Support Centre.

Participants of the events in different ways, but unanimously declared that they support peace and will try to do everything they can for peacebuilding...
