On the third meeting of Ozurgeti GCC the project, supported by Sakrebulo was discussed, which envisages rising of civil awareness for teenagers. Receiving co-financing from the side of Sakrebulo is an example of the fact that local self-government is aware of the importance of gender policy.

The meeting also discussed organizational issues of the local women needs research, eligibilities were allocated, council members attended a work-shop on research techniques and methods. They realized how important the research is in the process of follower work.

Inhabitants of Chokhatauri Street No 16 in Ozurgeti, who represent ethnic minorities, again raised accomodation problems on informational meeting with representatives of the Fund ”Sukhumi”:  in rainy weather the yeard is waterlogged, the roof is damaged.

These problems were announced the same day on GCC meeting of the Fund “Sukhumi”. The journalists-council members, mentioned that they will air the problem, branch of GYLA in Ozurgeti will be also involved in advocacy of this problem.

 Most part of inhabitants of Chokhatauri 16 are representatives of ethnic minority, there are lots of socially unprotected and unemployed among them.

“Are the efforts of the local structures for prevention of domestic violence and victims’ assistance adequate?” – the civil debates arranged by the Fund “Sukhumi” in the Senaki municipality was devoted to this topic. The debates differed by a great number of participants and variety of their activities. The actual theme gathered members of Sakrebulo and Gamgeoba, Police and Center of Social Services, NGOs and Educational Resource Centers, journalists.  Members of Senaki GCC of the Fund”Sukhumi” were actively involved. The experts presented existing situation, talked about practice, examples, different problems. The participants were active in discussions.

Experience of the participants and their will to solve the problem gave basis for elaborating important recommendations.
