On June 20, project, funded by Swede Council “youth projects of protection nature in the Western Georgia” started.

The project is supported by cultural-humanitarian fund “Sukhumi”. First stage of the project has started in Bulachauri, it envisaged 3-day trainings for the fund “Sukhumi” youth net leaders from 6 cities and active members of its initiative group.

The topics of training were: ecological problems, environment and climate changes.

The second and third days were devoted to make things from second hand wastes. The girls were actively involved in project implementation. The second phase is conducting work-shops. Final activity was conducted on July 6 in Kutaisi, exhibition with decorative things made during whole project. It is worth noting that the author of the idea is volunteer from Germany – Ellen Schroder.

Gender analysis of local self-government results, youth activities and involvement in elections – the youth, gathered in Kutaisi youth center conducted discussion on this issue.

It was underlined that in spite of great number of voter women, final choice is made on behalf of men candidates, the results are following women unsolidarity, mentality and other factors. As for youth involvement, it was noted that activity is low, though at the end, as recommendations, there was announced that the elections are in close connection with better future, peace, democracy and the youth got more active through this direction.
