The meeting with Senaki Journalists was carried out in different format – they were invited to the Club of Voter Women, in order to give them opportunity to reflect gender issues, the problems of IDPs.
The meeting was attended by the deputies of Sakrebulo, which made the discussion more active and constructional.
There was held a presentation of the journal of the fund “Sukhumi” – “Gender Advisory Councils”. The journal was issued at the end of the first project year. Together with other materials, there are also the articles regarding collaboration of a Senaki WVC and the journalists.
On October 9, the lawyer of the fund “Sukhumi” met the IDPs residing in the former hotel of Senaki military city and familiarized them with the rights, given to them by the law on IDPs, spoke about importance of IDP inquiry.
The lawyer got interested in problematic issues. It was revealed that the main problem of the peoples residing there is cellar, sewage, unsanitary. Solution of these problems is beyond their possibilities. They also asked for cleaning the territory and organize a square for the children and give them possibility to have minimal comfort.

The journalists, who gathered in the fund “Sukhumi” see and feel gender/social demand and actively work in this direction.
The newly published journal-report “Gender Advisory Councils”, in which one of the articles was devoted to the journalist from Kutaisi, the member of Kutaisi GAC – Nana Robakidze and the other one – regarding the specifics of the work with journalists in Kutaisi, Senaki and Ozurgeti.
On October 8-9 the 11-th meeting of Kutaisi GAC was held.
The meeting was devoted to reveal priorities from final version of the package of the suggestions and recommendations elaborated after the analysis of local gender needs.
13 out of 50 recommendations were chosen for envisaging in 2015 budget. The priorities were made on reflecting gender aspects in pre-school educational program and effective implementation of the program, supporting of small business programs, envisaging gender aspects, health programs, gender balancing of sport.
Old and new members of the Voter Women’s Club gathered in the women Support Center. The members of Sakrebulo were also invited: Dinara Khukhua, Koba Kilasonia, Jumber Lashkarava and Eliso Tsaguria.
There was once again mentioned the problem of the IDPs residing in the Sanatorium “Menji”. They live in unbearable condition, without information about their future.
It was decided, that the members of Senaki VWC and GACs will be involved in advocacy of mentioned problem. Sakrebulo of Senaki Municipality will address the Ministry of IDPs and Resettlement.
Senaki Youth Center decided to discuss the following issues: what kind of programs exist in the city for the youth, what does the local budget envisage, how does the youth have possibility to be involved in different types of activities.
The participants gathered in conference hall of Senaki for receiving competent information. Irakli Kacharava (responsible person for the work of the youth and sport services in Senaki Municipality)told the participants about the activities of the youth service, what kind of activities were implemented, what do they plan in future.
-We have a great desire to hear as many initiatives as possible from the youth, actively involve them in the process of forming the budget, to make future programs more colorful, - mentioned he.
By the opinions of the young people, the meeting was very interesting and important. They expressed the will to actively cooperate with the youth services in future, attend Sakrebulo meetings and be involved in the process of budgeting.
