The facts of violation of the last period raise a sense of protest in the society. Individual persons, NGOs, state structures express a protest to violence by different means.

On this background, the round table, conducted by the fund “Sukhumi” in Khoni Sakrebulo was in time. It was attended by the representatives of self-government, social services, Khoni police department, educational resource center and mass-media.

“How adequate is the role of local government in violence prevention and victims’ assistance” – this issue caused serious discussion.

• Everyone, who has possibility, must make more important steps for violence prevention.

Coordinative work and collaboration defines effective assistance of violence victims – this was general opinion of the meeting participants.

TV Company “Rioni” devoted special program to the facts, which happened during last period as a result of violence against women. There was announced a statement of the fund “Sukhumi”, which once again underlines the importance of the society and each citizen towards the issue.

The program was followed by the inter-active. The program revealed dangerous tendency – part of society tries to justify the behavior of the men.

As the program participants mentioned, there is much work to do on the legislative level and for raising awareness of the society.

The lawyer of Ozurgeti GAC began to work for solving the problems of the residents of Nikoladze Street, mainly - amortized road, which needed reaction long time ago. With the help of lawyer, statements of the citizens were prepared to the Mayor of Ozurgeti, which is already submitted to the City Hall.
