Panel dialogue
between Senaki Club of Women Voters of Fund "Sukhumi" and the local
government concerned the issues which have been implemented for several months
by the group of civic initiatives with the involvement of more people and more
services.
Representatives
of the local government emphasized the fact that the non-homogeneous processes
in local government, in some extent hinder the implementation of civic
initiatives, but, in general, local politics has very friendly attitude to the
work of the club and their initiatives are fully supported. At this stage,
there is allocated a car and fuel for a clean up action in Nokalakevi. There
are mobilized administrative resources.
As the members of
the club, the efforts of the people included in the initiative do not dissapear
without trace, "the issue we raised in order to avoid the destruction of
the green band by cattle have already been resolved. The local government of
the city imposed small but very effective penalties on livestock owners, and at
present the population has a responsible attitude to the issue of
landscaping".
"Within the
framework of the initiative we want to
examine compliance with health and hygiene standards in the agricultural market
and carry out a small campaign to inform
salesmen on environment protection and food security", - such a proposal
was made by the young people, involved in the initiative.
There will be written
articles on the progress of the initiative and they will be
published in the journal of Fund "Sukhumi" – "Women's Voice" and
in the local newspaper.
It is
particularly obvious that the theme of environmental protection and ecological
culture has gradually become popular, which is very pleasing for the club
members.
