The great interest of the attendees gathered at the meeting of the Club of Women Voters of the Fund "Sukhumi" was caused by the information about amendments to be included in the Labour Code. A chairperson of Kutaisi branch of the Association of Young Lawyers of Georgia Tamar Pachulia was invited to the meeting to clarify the issues in this regard.

There was noted that, despite the fact that proposals of non-governmental organizations (about maternity and other leaves) were not stipulated in the Labour Code, the Association of Young Lawyers will again submit them to the legislature.

Leaders of Khoni Club of Women Voters of Fund "Sukhumi" launched a panel dialogue with the good information - these days there will be declared a winner of the tender for fencing of the central park. And with the resources allocated from the budget there is planned to install two attractions.

After the club's initiative residents of Khoni have launched an active campaign for the rehabilitation of a small park at the entrance to Khoni. They said that in the self-government of Khoni there has already been made an appropriate decision and allocated budget funds.

In the self-government they do not hide the fact that this decision was conditioned by the activity and high motivation of citizens for the participation in the redecoration of the park.

"An example of Khoni shows that a solid budget is not necessary for the collaboration with citizens and their inclusion in the definition of priorities. This requires active citizens and the will of representatives of the local government - to accept society as a co-participant of the local self-government" - said attendees of the panel dialogue.

As for the new activities, members of an initiative group express their desire to landscape the park. MPs have already been involved in that matter and they are waiting for the reception of seedlings. Along with the Service of planting greenery activists of the Club are planning to plant flowers and adornment plants in the park and in the city center.

"It is noticeable that there are no women in our city’s local self-government. There have not been planted flowers for the last three years in the city", - noted women with regret.

The local newspaper actively covers the work on the implementation of the initiative.
