Medea Mikeladze - manager talked about cultural events that have been held in recent months in the "House of Friendship" with the support of the City Council and various embacies:

-On March 21, Azerbaijanians celebrated the New Year. On March 25, Greeks - Independence Day. Will be held the evening of poetry, we are going to invite veterans, on May 26, - we all will celebrate the Independence Day of Georgia.

According to Medea Mikeladze, the main problem – is to find finances. The problem is solved by the Internet - it will contribute to more active work of representatives of various ethnic minorities.

On the same day, representatives of the Fund "Sukhumi" came to visit the saloon-shop of folk industry "Bordzhgalo", which means light, the sun (www. akvani.ge). Founder of the saloon, Kemal Turmanidze introduced them to his own handwork (ethnographic items, reflecting the life of mountain villages of Adjara) and expressed his willingness to cooperate.

Conversation on Batumi Gender Advisory Council (GAC), mainly touched the final results of a study conducted by members of the board. After intensive discussions proposals and recommendations were developed which will be presented to City Council to maximally reflect needs identified by the study in the local budget.

The meeting heard a report gender adviser of City Council: " When I meet with colleagues, it is obvious that Batumi noticeably went ahead to introduce a gender perspective and it made me very happy. I read with interest the study and saw areas of cooperation. The local authorities have the resources to solve many of the problems identified."

GAC members also talked about issues, advocacy of which they consider necessary at different levels and outlined strategies for addressing them.

On April 2, 3, 11 in the WSCs of Tskaltubo, Khoni and Poti consultations of the psychologist – Tata Kalandadze was conducted.

Meetings with 39 women envisaged psychological tests on: “How well do the mothers know their children”.

The aim of the project is proper formation of parents’ and children’s relationships and construction. Analyze and correction of problematic relations.

Both – the topic and the test was very interesting for women. 23 out of 39 are parents and 35-40% among them knows few things about their children, do not know what they want, what they feel, what are they interested in, what problems do they have in their own private area, what pleases them and what is unacceptable.

After tests and result analysis the discussion was held on real problems, the women received advises for closer relations with their children.
