"Creation of Gender Equality in Georgia”- was the topic of youth meeting at Khoni Women Support Centre.

The second part of the meeting was dedicated to a workshop on conflict issue.

Active group of boys and girls, interesting ideas, frank statements - that is how we can describe this meeting.

According to the participants it will be hard to create equal gender society in Georgia. It might be theoretically acceptable, but hard to be implemented in practice.

They consider that the meetings, trainings and workshops on this topic are important and help their generation change the existing gender imbalance.

- Security means freedom and independence for me.

- Being safe means that the food I eat is not harmful for my health.

- I should not be afraid to go outside at night.

- There should be no violence.

These are the conclusions young people made at the Khoni Youth Centre debates, dedicated to the topic of human security.

Majority of the participants highlighted that their first association with security is the concept of peace which is natural, taking into consideration the specific conditions of our country and the hazards that are easy to notice.

The participants frankly admitted that it was the first time they had thought about the components of human security.

They mentioned that sometimes people wittingly or unwittingly create the unsafe atmosphere themselves, e.g. pollute the environment, eat unhealthy food, violate on others.

The discussions on the topic of security will be continued at other Youth Centres.
