A meeting was held at Senaki Club of Women Voters. The moderator of the meeting Diana Giorgadze discussed a last month activities. A legal advocacy group managed to solve the problem of IDPs, caused by a strong wind (a five-storey block of flat had its roof blown away).

The roof was repaired after the joint efforts of Senaki municipality and Ministry of Refugees and Accommodation, with the participation of women representatives of Legal Advocacy group.

Participants of the meeting admitted that many problems can be solved with the participation of IDPs themselves and created a new legal advocacy plan.

The problem of health care was also discussed at the meeting. The representative of emergency medical care mentioned that there are only three ambulance cars to serve the town,  salaries are only low and the facilities and equipments need to be  upgrade.

The future activities of the club are connected with investigation of the problems and needs of disabled bed-ridden people.

Domestic violence and their controlled mechanisms- was the topic of workshop with young people held in Poti Women Support Centre.

-If we give possibility to conflict development, the result we gain is the violence – that was the general opinion of workshop participant’s.

-What are the methods of conflict management, who and how avoid the conflict? - All participants tried to answer those questions.

Some interesting moments were mentioned during the discussion: most of girl participant’s believe that family violence can be avoided if everyone rejects their positions.

The position of men was radically different (the workshop was attended by two men). They basically blame women in family conflicts. They say: - conflict between couples develops if women do not obey and relinguish their opinions.

After discussion the group comes up to one opinion: more information is needed. The boys should also present on such kind of workshops to increase their consciousness and not to be based only on stereotypes.

Signing Memorandums with local authorities of Kutaisi, Senaki and Ozurgeti and active work in these cities: Gender Advisory Councils, Clubs of Women Voters, informational meetings - these issues interested the journalists who came to the meeting.

They already know about the new project of Fund "Sukhumi" and, most importantly, see their role in achieving success and greater efficiency.

This spirit was felt at the meeting with representatives of our media partners.
