In order to improve the work of WSC of the Fund “Sukhumi”, Monthly mobilization meetings are held in IDP collective centers. 

The topic of May meetings in Kutaisi, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Poti, Senaki and Khurcha was - violence victims rehabilitation ways in IDP collective centers. There was also discussed pre-election gender situation in the mentioned cities. The conversation was regarding how important is women-candidates’ support in local social problems solution and society well-power.

Batumi Gender Advisory Council devoted its ordinary meeting to preparation work of self-governmental gender analysis. There were defined spheres, where monitoring must be conducted: who will be involved in the process; how and in what period will be collected and elaborated information.

The meeting was attended by the Chairperson of Sakrebulo Irakli Chavleishvili, who got interested by council activities; he answered the questions of council members regarding women’s participation in local elections.

One more interesting event took place that day, which was joined by GAC members: presentation of the book “Grigol Volski” of honorable citizen of Batumi, Professor Ramaz Surmanidze, and the mentioned presentation was supported by local government and became one of the most important events.

The journal “Women, peace, human security” was issued in frames of the Fund “Sukhumi” project “Women and girls for peace, security and social justice”.

The second task of the project is: increasing of women’s role through cooperation of the Fund “Sukhumi” and women association on local level in the issues of peace, human security and gender equality.

The journal shows a work, conducted within the project with interesting portraits of project participants, their histories and impressions.
